Six days of hands-on competition WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. 🌏 Congratulations to the medal winners from Germany, China and Austria on their outstanding achievements!

WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 has come to an end last weekend - bringing together young skilled professionals from around the world to demonstrate their expertise on an international stage. For us, it was a pleasure to support the competition “Concrete Construction Work” with our formwork and to witness the participants' dedication throughout the event.

Congratulations to all participants, and especially to the winners! 🏆👏

A big thank you to the competitors, experts, organizers and everyone involved in WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. Together is key, and it was the commitment of everyone involved that made these six days in Shanghai an unforgettable event. 👏

How do you support a 13-metre-wide hammerhead segment more than 60 metres above ground? 🏗️

This was one of the engineering challenges on Flyover ES-26 along Poland’s Via Carpathia corridor. For the hammerhead segments, 400 kN UniKit wall brackets are suspended directly from the bridge piers to transfer the loads into the structure. Combined with Doka UniKit beams, UniKit lowering heads and Supporting construction frames on the outside, the setup provides the heavy-duty support required for construction of the starter segments. 🚀

These 13-metre-wide segments form the starting point for the balanced cantilever construction of the superstructure. Being passionate about delivering added value for our customers means developing solutions that respond to the specific structural requirements of each project.

How do you translate complex 3D geometry into a 55.6-metre-high monolithic concrete structure? 🏗️

This was the challenge behind the new statue of the Virgin Mary in Kikół, Poland. Built in reinforced concrete and completed in July 2026, the structure reaches 55.6 metres and includes a viewing platform at a height of 15 metres.

The formwork planning started with an approximately two-metre-high sculpture commissioned by the client. After digital scanning, a 3D model provided the basis for Doka’s engineering. The resulting plans were translated into CNC-manufactured formwork elements.

Different areas of the structure required different formwork approaches. Around 1,000 m² of pre-assembled formwork was used for the figure itself, accommodating formwork molds provided by a further project partner. Pre-assembled Top 50 formwork was used for the columns and parapets as well as straight wall sections, while H20 formwork was applied to the curved rotunda walls.

Combining these approaches allowed the formwork concept to follow the changing geometry throughout the structure. Doka worked closely with the project team from planning through ex*****on - because when it really matters, our solutions make it work.

From 22-27 September, young skilled professionals from around the world will come together to demonstrate what they can by representing their skills on an international level.

Safe construction of bridge piers rising up to 66 metres on Poland’s tallest flyover bridge. 🌉

Located along Poland’s Via Carpathia corridor, the multi-span flyover bridge forms part of the S19 Babica–Jawornik expressway and is being constructed by Intercor Sp. z o.o., with spans reaching up to 188 metres. ⬆️

For the construction of the bridge piers, three units of Automatic climbing formwork SKE100 plus support the team at working heights exceeding 60 m. Integrated working platforms, stair towers and ladders provide protected working areas and secure access throughout the climbing cycles.

Multiple working levels allow anchoring, hydraulic climbing and concreting activities to take place independently on different levels. The entire system can be climbed in a single operation. 🏗️

From engineering to on-site technical support, Doka works closely with the project team throughout the pier construction - because we don’t leave our customers hanging. 🚀

💪 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗵𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗺 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗱
Für Autofahrer ist die Baustelle an der A 45 bei Sechshelden vor allem eines: eine Geduldsprobe. Doch wer genauer hinschaut, erlebt ein beeindruckendes Zusammenspiel: Menschen, Maschinen und tonnenweise Material sind in ständiger Bewegung – und doch läuft alles wie eine perfekt einstudierte Choreografie.

Beherrschbar wird ein Projekt dieser Größenordnung, indem unzählige Zahnräder ineinandergreifen. Und es sind nicht zuletzt die vielen Schnittstellen „hinter den Kulissen“ – Fertigservice, Schalungsvormontage, Materiallogistik –, die das möglich machen.

Ein Beispiel: Die Profis der Schalungsvormontage unterstützen die Baustellenmannschaft nicht nur beim Auf- und Abbau der Schalung, sondern bringen auch ihre enorme Erfahrung in puncto Baustellenorganisation mit. So entwickelten sie u. a. gemeinsam mit dem Engineering-Team eine praktikable Lösung, wie sich die riesigen Schalungseinheiten mithilfe von Kran und Sondertraversen vor Ort effizient bewegen lassen – nur ein Baustein von vielen, die in Summe das Projekt auf Kurs halten.

Am Ende zählt genau dieses Zusammenspiel und die Kompetenz, das große Ganze im Griff zu haben – vor und hinter den Kulissen. Denn wenn es wirklich darauf ankommt, sind es solche Lösungen, die ein Projekt auf Kurs halten.
