Pushing the boundaries of hydropower . ⚡💧
Global Hydro’s most powerful runners to date deliver an output of 40 MW each. These two units, each with an outer diameter of 1.5 m and a total weight of 2.5 t, were manufactured as replacement runners, supporting the and efficiency improvement of an existing hydropower plant.
To meet demanding operating conditions, the outer diameter of both runners were coated with HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) at the customer’s request. This advanced coating technology creates an extremely dense, wear-resistant surface that protects against erosion and abrasion - significantly increasing the durability and lifetime of critical turbine components. 🛡️🔧

Tailor-made butterfly valve at our Innovation and Manufacturing Center in Austria. 🛠️🙏

For a recent project in Asia, we engineered a special butterfly valve that features electrical opening by electrical servomotor and closing by counterweights, controlled by a separate hydraulic cylinder - ensuring smooth and reliable operation without the need for a separate hydraulic power unit. In this innovative design, the hydraulic cylinder itself acts as a damping element, providing precise control and safe closing behavior.
