🇨🇲 A river without data, a village guide, and a hand-built raft: that's how our feasibility study for a hydropower project in Akom II, Cameroon, began.

With no measurements available for the Tchangue River, our team and local experts built their own solution. 🛶 The first flow measurement was taken from a raft, built overnight by the village guide and his son.

🦺🔨🚧🏗️ Meet the Expert: Lucia Wolfgang, Deputy Team Leader

You might recognize Lucia from yesterday's ZNBC coverage of our Choma Water & Sanitation project in Zambia — she was even interviewed for the segment! Today, meet her properly: Lucia works as Deputy Team Leader on the project.

We asked her three questions:

Water, energy, or the environment – which one is closest to your heart?
Lucia: "Water. It's a fascinating element and vital for life. We mostly work in countries where water supply infrastructure is very dilapidated, and customers receive water only for a few hours per day. Being involved in restoring reliable and safe water supply to the population is rewarding."

What's the first thing you do when you arrive at a new construction site?
Lucia: "Checking site safety."

What do you value most about your work?
Lucia: "Working in varying cultural contexts and with people from different parts of the world. This exposure has been my best teacher in life."

🚧 Project Update from Batumi, Georgia
As construction progresses across the different components of our "Rehabilitation of Communal Infrastructure of New Batumi”, we're pleased to share another update—this time from the Chakvi Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
The new treatment plant will become the primary source of drinking water for the City of Batumi. Current works focus on the demolition of the existing buildings, preparing the site for the construction of the new facility.
While activities vary from site to site, every milestone contributes to the same objective: delivering reliable water and wastewater infrastructure that supports Batumi's continued growth and long-term sustainability.

🚧 Project Update from Batumi, Georgia
Our work on the "Rehabilitation of Communal Infrastructure of New Batumi" is progressing simultaneously across multiple sites.
Today, we're taking a closer look at another key element of the project—the Injalo Reservoir.
To further strengthen Batumi's drinking water supply, an additional 5,000 m³ reservoir is currently under construction, increasing the total storage capacity to 15,000 m³.
Current activities include the installation of pipework in the valve chamber and screeding works inside the new water chamber.
Together with the ongoing works at the main sewer pumping station, this represents another important step towards modern, reliable, and sustainable municipal infrastructure for Batumi.

🚧 Project Update from Batumi, Georgia
Our "Rehabilitation of Communal Infrastructure of New Batumi" continues to make steady progress across several construction sites, each contributing to a more resilient water and wastewater infrastructure for the City of Batumi.
This week, we are highlighting the construction of the main sewer pumping station A.
The excavation works have been successfully completed, including securing the excavation pit with reinforced concrete piles. Construction of the reinforced concrete pump pit structure is now in full progress.
Each completed milestone brings the project another step closer to strengthening Batumi's essential public infrastructure and supporting the city's future development.
Stay tuned as we continue to share updates from other project components over the coming weeks.

🚰💧 A milestone for sustainable water infrastructure in Moldova

🎉 We are proud that Posch & Partner contributed to the successful completion of the Edineț Water Treatment Plant, officially inaugurated on 24 June.
💙 Thanks to this project, around 25,800 people in Edineț and Cupcini now have access to safe, high-quality drinking water in their homes, schools, and businesses.
