👧👦 Experiencing careers at ZIMM

Last week, girls and boys aged 10 to 14 visited ZIMM as part of the Wirtschaftskammer Vorarlberg“Ich geh mit” initiative. They had the opportunity to look over the shoulders of parents, relatives and acquaintances – and experience how versatile technology, production and collaboration at ZIMM are.

A valuable insight into today’s working world. And perhaps a first impulse for the skilled workers of tomorrow. ⚙️💚

We tried something new at ZIMM. And yes – it worked really well 😊

This week, we hosted our first ZIMM Health Day. Not because health hasn’t been important to us before (quite the opposite 😄), but because until now we had approached it in a more traditional way: our company doctor regularly visited us and offered medical check-ups. A proven setup – but this time, we wanted to try a different format. So we did.

Our employees could voluntarily visit various stations throughout the day, depending on their interests and schedule:
- Eye tests
- Massages
- Blood pressure & blood sugar checks
- Vaccination offers
- A “wall of appreciation” where people could share what they are grateful for - at work or in their personal lives
- Breathing exercises to help calm the mind

And a real highlight: a healthy snack bar

This snack bar was something special. One of our colleagues prepared everything at home, put a lot of thought into it and created something truly great. Anyone who sees the photo will understand 😉

All in all: A really good day, great atmosphere – and very clear for us: This won’t be a one‑time thing.

What we especially liked: The offers were very well received and by the end of the day, we heard comments like: “When are we doing this again?” or “Can we just keep the massage therapist?” 😄

⚓ Avoid slack rope on the container crane.

In the backreach area, rope tension must remain constant so that the catenary trolley can be guided stably and precisely. ZIMM drive technology supports this with: less vibration, smoother rope running and lower wear.

Yesterday evening was a truly lovely evening for us.

Parents’ evening – together with our future apprentices.

For many, this journey starts quite early:
applications in autumn, trial days in February, offers in March. And then comes that moment when things become real – the apprenticeship contracts are signed.

We had the pleasure of welcoming the young people together with their parents and giving them an insight into what awaits them on their first working day and during their first week at ZIMM. Open, personal and without a big programme.

Afterwards, the workwear for the metal engineering department was already selected 🤩

It was especially nice that our CEO Gunther Zimmermann, spent the entire evening with us – talking, engaging and right in the middle of it all. This is exactly what characterises our way of working at ZIMM Group GmbH.

From September, we will be training four young people. The fact that they consciously chose ZIMM makes us proud as a company.

A new chapter is now beginning for them – and we look forward to accompanying them on their journey over the next three to three and a half years. 💚
