How do engineers select the most suitable mooring system for a floating offshore structure? The answer is not always straightforward. Our latest research explores different mooring approaches for floating wind applications, comparing steel wire, polyester and hybrid configurations under a range of operating conditions.
The work was carried out with the support of Dimitris Manolas, Wind Renewables S.A., and Professor Emeritus Dr.-Ing. Spyros A. Mavrakos of the Laboratory for Floating Structures and Mooring Systems, Division of Marine Structures, School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, National Technical University of Athens.
On Friday, 23 October, our CTO, Maurizio Meleddu and Dimitris Manolas, partner at Wind Renewables S.A will present the findings at FER Forum 2026.

Carinthian Timber Fair 2026: Where the Highest Loads Act, We Create Connections
Last week, we were proud to be part of the Carinthian International Timber Fair, where we had the opportunity to welcome numerous visitors, customers, and partners to our booth.

Under the motto “Where the highest loads act, we create connections.”, we demonstrated how our wire rope solutions perform every day in applications where reliability, safety, and performance are critical. Whether in forestry cable crane systems or other demanding applications, our products create strong connections, even under extreme conditions.

The many personal conversations, the direct exchange with users, and the strong interest in our solutions and latest developments made the event especially valuable. Once again, the fair highlighted the importance of market proximity, partnership, and technical expertise for shared success.
