🏆 Innovation in Practice: Award-Winning Master Thesis

A project implemented within our company has been honored with the INNOVATIONaward FH Wels 2026, which recognizes outstanding and practice-oriented master theses each year. 👩🏼‍🎓

Doris Bernroider achieved 1st place in the category Automation & Mechatronics. In her thesis, she developed a controlled braking module for steel wire rope production, enabling increased precision, higher automation, and reduced downtime.

The project was realized at Teufelberger-Redaelli in close collaboration with our Industrial Engineering and Production teams. Its goal: to regulate strand tension in stranding machines and ensure stable production conditions.

This award highlights the value of combining academic excellence with real-world application—and reinforces our commitment to innovation driven by partnership.

After an incredible week at NRG Park, we look back with pride and gratitude. Presenting our technical paper and receiving a Certificate of Appreciation for it – was a meaningful recognition of the work our team.
But beyond the stage, it was the conversations at our booth that reminded us what OTC is truly about: people, ideas, and a shared commitment to the future of offshore energy.

Our colleague Christian Altenau is currently in Indonesia at IPA Convex 2026 in Jakarta – together with our partner PT Nobel.
In a market like Indonesia, it is essential to make partnership tangible – through personal contacts, joint market activities, and direct customer engagement. At the same time, local brand presence is becoming increasingly important, not least in light of regulatory requirements such as the SNI certification for steel wire ropes.
By combining a strong local partner with our own on-site presence, we are deliberately strengthening our position and further advancing our activities in the market.

On April 26, the City of Burnaby celebrated the grand opening of this remarkable 400‑tonne pedestrian and cyclist overpass, installed overnight above Highway 1.
The new bridge creates a safe, fully accessible route connecting North and South Burnaby, easing pressure on traffic while encouraging walking and cycling for people of all ages and abilities.
We are proud to have played our part in this important infrastructure project by supplying structural cables along with the clamps, contributing to a structure built to last.
A great example of how smart engineering can bring communities closer together. 🌉💪
