Manufacturers are looking at automation, operational efficiency, material consumption, recyclability, supply chain performance, and overall cost of ownership. Packaging has become part of a much bigger picture.
Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing insights and observations from the world of bulk packaging through the lens of AD*STAR® technology.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘄𝗲'𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:

• Packaging performance in real production environments
• Challenges and opportunities on automated filling lines
• Mono-material solutions and circular packaging concepts
• Differences in market requirements around the world
• The manufacturing and engineering behind consistent sack quality
• Looking beyond purchase price when evaluating packaging solutions

But more importantly, we want to start conversations around questions many producers are already asking:

How much does packaging influence operational efficiency?
Can sustainability and performance go hand in hand?
What really creates value over the lifetime of a packaging solution?
And how do established technologies continue to adapt as industry requirements evolve?

At the end of the day, industrial packaging is about much more than making a sack. It affects production, logistics, product protection, and increasingly, also sustainability goals.

We're looking forward to sharing examples, experiences, and industry perspectives along the way.

Pakistani PET producer Novatex Ltd. has expanded its product portfolio by investing in bottle-to-bottle recycling of collected post-consumer PET bottles.

With the new Starlinger bottle-to-bottle recycling system, Novatex is able to produce up to 3,000 kg of food-contact rPET per hour, which amounts to an annual production output of more than 24,000 tons.

Pakistan generates around 3.12 million tons of plastic waste annually, of which only 4 to 9 percent is recycled. The country is working on setting up a waste management strategy but there is no national mandatory recycled content quota for plastic packaging yet.
Thus, brand owners such as PepsiCo and Coca-Cola are currently pushing the use of recycled plastics, relying on companies such as Novatex for sourcing recycled materials.

Installed at the Novatex facility in the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park near Lahore, Pakistan, the recoSTAR PET 215 art bottle-to-bottle recycling system supplied by Starlinger has been commissioned in November 2025.
