ElectraNet will undertake essential maintenance on the transmission network on the southern Yorke Peninsula on 17 October, which will impact electricity supply in the region.

This maintenance will affect households and businesses in the Yorke Peninsula’s south including townships such as Coobowie, Edithburgh, Marion Bay, Port Giles, Stansbury, Yorketown, Warooka and surrounding areas, which are expected to be without power between 11:00pm on Saturday 17 October to 7:00am Sunday 18 October.

Essential maintenance is scheduled at the Dalrymple Substation to replace a faulty insulator. This will help reduce the risk of unplanned outages over summer, when dust and salt can build up on insulators and cause electricity arcs across insulators.

The essential maintenance will interrupt power supply in Hawker and surrounds, including Cradock and Flinders Ranges between 8:45am and 4:00pm.

ElectraNet plans to undertake essential maintenance work on the transmission network in the Hawker and Leigh Creek regions in October.

This essential maintenance work will impact electricity supply on:

📅Wednesday 7 October – 8:45am – 4pm at Neuroodla Substation. This will interrupt power supply in Hawker and surrounds, including Cradock and Flinders Ranges.

📅Monday 19 October – 8am – 4pm at Neuroodla and Leigh Creek South substations. This will interrupt power supply in Hawker, Leigh Creek and surrounds, including Cradock, Flinders Rangers, Copley, Beltana, Lyndhurst and Nepabunna.

This essential maintenance on transmission assets in the region is designed to reduce the risk of unexpected power interruptions in the future.

Disrupting the electricity supply is not something which we take lightly, however the substations must be de-energised for these essential works to be safely carried out.

The latest Draft What We Heard Report Volume 3 for the Northern Transmission Project (NTx) has now been released.

The report captures feedback received during recent engagements in the new fifth corridor in NTx South, and we’re inviting the community to review it before it’s finalised.

We’ve shared an update on the Northern Transmission Project’s current consultations.
Community engagement is underway in a new corridor area in NTx South.

ElectraNet has identified a new corridor for further investigation for the Northern Transmission Project, following community feedback.

We have heard from people in the Mid North during a comprehensive community engagement process.

The community’s feedback has directly influenced the focus of our investigations, which is further east of the original corridor options. It’s important to note that this does not represent a final decision and the project remains subject to further investigation, engagement and assessment.

This corridor investigation is another import step following the release of the Project Assessment Draft Report, which found that Northern Transmission Project delivers up to $640 million in net market benefits for South Australia.
