📢 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲!

Exciting news - the 𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗲 app designed to help passengers catch a bus, is currently being trialled in Port Macquarie, NSW with the Busways. See Me can 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 by enabling them to notify bus drivers when waiting at a bus stop.

The See Me app, created by SAGE Automation Programmer Cassie Hames, was selected to participate in the Bus Boarding Assistance Innovation Challenge, a Transport for NSW initiative. The challenge sought out digital solutions to help individuals in need of boarding assistance by enabling them to easily request a bus from their mobile device. The app is already undergoing trials in South Australia and Queensland.

Exciting news! The 𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗲 app trial in South Australia, has been 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟵𝟴𝗔 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟵𝟴𝗖, operating seven days a week!

Developed by SAGE Automation Programmer Cassie Hames, the See Me app aims to improves accessibility for public transport passengers by enabling them to signal bus drivers when waiting at a stop. Supported by the Department of Infrastructure and Transport SA, Adelaide Metro and the app is available for use on the City Connector buses 99A, 99C Monday to Friday and now 98A and 98C 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸.

A huge congratulations to our very own Systems Engineer, Jordan Hutchinson, who last Thursday night was honoured with receiving the ITS Australia Young Professional Award.

Jordan was recognised for his exceptional work across several critical ITS projects, including enhancing the functionality of an IoT device (now used by government and road authorities nationwide), creating an automated traffic light system for an autonomous vehicle (AV) trial, and spearheading vehicle safety initiatives in the smart cities sector.

Paul Markwick, SAGE's Head of Transport and Addinsight, praised Jordan's dedication to finding innovative solutions for the transport industry's challenges.

We couldn’t be prouder, Cassie Hames!

After over 12 months in development, and recently winning Initiative of the Year at the 2023 Australian Access Awards, See Me is officially launching its first proof-of-concept trial today, Monday 5th of February, 2024!

“I’m so excited for See Me to finally be out in the community! See Me aims to dissolve the anxiety surrounding catching public transport, and I can’t wait to get that real-world feedback to push See ME to even greater heights,” Cassie said.

The 6-month trial, supported by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport was formally announced today by Hon Tom Koutsantonis MP and Lucy Hood MP in the Adelaide C*D, and will be available to use on bus 99A and 99C on the free City Connector service.

Thanks for stopping by Prime Minister 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲!

Yesterday, SAGE Automation Apprentice Electricians 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗵 and 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 had the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister at TAFE SA in the Tonsley Innovation District.

The pair enjoyed a conversation with the PM about their learning journey to date and experience as SAGE apprentices before showcasing some of their skills on a mock electrical setup.

After completing their Certificate II in Electrotechnology, Daniel and James began their career at SAGE Automation, first as trade assistants before earning full-time apprenticeships.

Daniel and James are just two of the many young professionals SAGE is proudly supporting through our hands-on apprenticeships, along with industry training pathways through Skills Lab RTO code: 45486, a SAGE Group company – providing meaningful pathways for next-generation industry professionals.
