Set along the water’s edge on South Australia’s Kumarangk Hindmarsh Island, Samphire is a secluded riverfront retreat created for slower days, deeper rest and time spent immersed in nature. ⚡ Electrical safety at home - what every South Australian household needs to know.

Electricity powers everything we love about our homes, but it pays to treat it with respect. Here are Team Glow's top tips for keeping your home and family safe: 🏠

🔌 Don't overload your power points
Plugging too many devices into a single outlet or powerboard can cause overheating and is one of the most common causes of electrical fires. If you're running out of power points, it might be time for a switchboard upgrade.

💧 Keep water and electricity well apart
Never use electrical appliances near sinks, baths or pools. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination. Always make sure your bathroom and outdoor areas have the right safety switches installed.

🛡️ Check your safety switches
Safety switches are designed to cut power instantly if a fault is detected... potentially saving lives. Test yours every six months by pressing the test button. If it doesn't trip, call a licensed electrician straight away.

🚨 Make sure your smoke alarms are working
Check and test your smoke alarms regularly and replace batteries when needed. In South Australia, every home is required by law to have a working smoke alarm installed.

🔧 Never DIY electrical work
It might be tempting to save money by doing it yourself... but electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician. DIY electrical work is illegal in South Australia and can be extremely dangerous.

We were so proud to watch the St James Centre at Gleeson College go from construction to this incredible moment, the Official Opening and Blessing by Archbishop Patrick O’Regan. What a memorable milestone for the entire Gleeson College community. 🙏

Glow Commercial was honoured to deliver the mechanical works on this fantastic project, and seeing it officially opened and blessed is the best kind of feeling for our team.

A project with real heart - Kalyra Belair.

Glow Commercial is proud to have delivered the commercial electrical and mechanical works on the beautiful Kalyra Belair aged care refurbishment and retirement village upgrade in Belair. 🌿

This significant project for long-term Kennett client Kalyra included a new building, extensions and various refurbishment works to the existing aged care facility and retirement village in Belair.

The scope included refurbishments of all existing bedrooms, ensuites, and common lounge, dining and kitchen areas in the aged care facility, plus extensions for additional administration areas and resident bedrooms. In the retirement village, works included upgrades to independent living units along with a dedicated billiards room, café, bar, lounge rooms, library and gymnasium, connected by a new linked walkway and complemented by external courtyards and landscaping.

A huge thank you to Kennett Builders for once again choosing Glow Commercial to be part of such an important project. It's always a pleasure working alongside such a respected and professional team. 🤝

This Sunday at 2:00 AM, South Australia moves into daylight saving time, clocks spring forward one hour to 3:00 AM. Yes, it means one less hour of sleep, but hello extra evening daylight! ☀️

While you're thinking about it, use this as your reminder to do one more important thing 'check and change the battery in your smoke alarm'. 🚨

It takes two minutes and could save your life. A working smoke alarm is one of the simplest and most important safety measures in your home - don't let a flat battery be the reason it lets you down when it matters most.

Here's your quick checklist this Sunday:

⏰ Spring your clocks forward one hour
🔋 Replace your smoke alarm battery
👂 Test your alarm to make sure it's working

🏍️ He did it! Nigel has completed the Husqvarna Trek through the Flinders Ranges... and what an adventure it was!

We are so proud of our director Nigel for taking on the Husqvarna Trek right here in South Australia, riding through some of the most spectacular country our great state has to offer. 🤙❤️

But it wasn't just about the ride. As part of the Trek, Nigel raised an incredible $3,275 for Variety - the Children’s Charity SA - contributing to an amazing overall total of $26,585 raised for children and families facing challenges across Australia. 🙏

That is something to be genuinely proud of, and it wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of everyone who donated and shared the fundraising page. From all of us at Team Glow, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Every single dollar makes a real difference. 💛

Variety SA does extraordinary work for kids and families who need it most, and we are proud to have played a small part in supporting such a worthy cause.
