𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 | Flinders Port Holdings’ Berth 6 Extension

Major marine infrastructure depends on temporary works that create the conditions for safe, accurate construction.

Madsen Giersing now part of MLEI supported McConnell Dowell on the Flinders Port Holdings Berth 6 Extension through the detailed design of the combi wall piling frame.

The frame was a critical part of the construction methodology. It provided the stability, access and control required to install the large diameter tubular piles and sheet piles that now form part of the completed berth structure.

Temporary works are often no longer visible once construction is complete. Their influence remains. Well considered temporary works improve safety, manage construction risk and give project teams the accuracy needed to deliver permanent infrastructure with confidence.

The completed extension will strengthen port capacity and support future trade growth.

This project reflects the value of early technical thinking, coordinated delivery and specialist experience across marine infrastructure, temporary works and structural engineering.

We were proud to sponsor and attend the annual HeartKids Charity Golf Day at Hamilton Island Golf Club on Dent Island.

HeartKids provides lifelong support, resources and advocacy for children, young people, adults and families impacted by childhood onset heart disease. Supporting this work helps families access practical guidance, trusted information and connection during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Our team of Cameron Maxwell, Paul Lennon, Dave Smith and Troy Ingram finished second, missing the win by just a quarter of a shot.

More importantly, the day brought Whitsunday businesses and local golfers together to raise more than $100,000 for HeartKids.

The North Kirra coastline is one of the Gold Coast's most iconic coastal environments, and we're proud to be partnering with Lacey Groupon the Bilinga project.

Our environmental team MRA, now part of MLEI, has delivered a comprehensive Waste Management Plan to support the responsible and sustainable delivery of this exciting foreshore development.

Effective waste management is a key component of environmental stewardship, helping to minimise impacts, maximise resource recovery, and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

We're looking forward to seeing this project take shape and contribute to the future of the North Kirra community.
