This year we had the choice to go to either Conexpo or to go and see the team I supported since 1997 in the Super Bowl. The younger of my 2 sons Robert was given the choice. We work together generally back to back but given the nature of our work we don't get actual time together. He's a great kid and a wonderful pavement supervisor so to have a week in Vegas and San Fran was an option we took it. Literally one of the best weeks I've ever had. You literally can't buy that time.
Given the lack of contracts going right now next week he will start work for another company. While I'm proud of what I thought him. The expectation was that we'd roll into another contract and he'd eventually take over with his older brother. After 4 guaranteed contracts fell through the only option is to let him spread his wings. Watch this space if you get the chance hire him. Old school with modern thinking.
Hopefully it's a short term thing. We were happy to work globally.
