🔥 ANOTHER RIPPER TRANSFORMATION COMPLETE! 🔥

This week we wrapped up a job that started with a problem — a retaining wall that had been built without adequate drainage behind it, which had caused the concrete around the house to sink and ultimately meant the retaining wall needed to be replaced.

But what started as a problem turned into a bloody good opportunity! 💪

We completely rebuilt the retaining wall, making sure there was more than enough drainage behind it to give the client peace of mind moving forward. 💧🧱

And while we were at it, we transformed the whole area into something the family can actually enjoy! 👌

🌱 A huge open grass area for the kids to run around and play
🧱 A properly drained, solid retaining wall built to last

What started as a repair job has turned into a much more usable, practical and enjoyable backyard for the whole family. 🙌

Most importantly, the client can now have peace of mind knowing the retaining wall has been properly drained and constructed, with the drainage designed to prevent the issues they had experienced from becoming a problem again.

This week's job was one of those projects that had been left for so long that words don't really do it justice — the photos tell the story better than we ever could.

Hey guys, here’s a sneak peek at one of our current jobs underway. Unfortunately we had to completely rebuild this retaining wall after issues caused by the previous contractor.

They installed an ag pipe but didn’t use any drainage stone behind the wall, and also lined the back of the wall with black plastic which traps water and creates massive pressure on retaining walls over time.

So we had no option but to start again and do it properly — installing a minimum of 1400mm of drainage stone behind the wall along with an ag pipe wrapped in filter cloth for proper drainage and long term stability.

We also use geofabric behind the wall and around the drainage stone, basically creating a “stone burrito.” Unlike plastic, geofabric is designed to let water filter through while keeping soil out of the drainage system. This helps minimise pressure behind the wall and adds strength, stability, and longevity to the retaining wall.

Sometimes doing it properly the first time saves doing it twice 👌

This week at Ando’s Turf & Earthworks we knocked over a solid job for a good mate 💪

We excavated and installed a 38m long, 1200mm high concrete sleeper retaining wall, built to last. Backfilled with proper drainage stone to ensure longevity and keep everything flowing as it should 👌

About the Role:

Operating MR/HR trucks (essential)

Assisting with general earthworks and labouring

Machine operating experience highly regarded (not essential)

Working as part of a team across a range of jobs

What We’re Looking For:

MR or HR truck licence (required)

Strong work ethic and reliability

Positive, can-do attitude

Ability to work well in a team

Willingness to learn and take direction
