As part of , we look back with pride on our journey and what it means to be an Australian Made® business.

Aussie ingenuity and practical creativity can be found in all elements of our history. From our first home on Cockatoo Island being a naval shipyard capable of drydocking aircraft carriers and making hydro power turbines, to Australia being the first country to win the America's Cup after 132 years of US domination... This heritage continues in the ingenuity of our team members and our supply chain, as we work together to redefine aerial data capture and lead its adoption at scale around the world.

Carbonix couldn’t be prouder to be Aussie! Found out more about our Australian-based operations here: https://carbonix.com.au/australia-made/

Carbonix is proud to have successfully completed a BARS Silver Level Audit, for another year. Carried out by the Flight Safety Foundation, the audit scrutinised practices underpinning our mentality of continuous innovation and commitment to aerial safety and compliance.

A BARS Audit is an in-depth investigation into the procedures, processes and systems that Carbonix has in place. This accreditation reinforces how committed our organisation is to improvement, as well the adoption of best-practice processes and technology.

Carbonix recognises that RPAS for critical industries must be backed by a high level of assurance, redundancy, and robust procedures, in order to share the skies safely with conventional aviation.

Carbonix was invited to participate in the 2024 NSW Commercialisation Showcase. Hosted by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer, the event is a NSW Government-led initiative designed to demonstrate how collaboration between government and business can be beneficial for all parties.

As part of the Showcase, Carbonix displayed a Volanti airframe, together with video of recent missions. Founder Dario Valenza gave a brief presentation on the company, mission, achievements, and future plans. The event was also a valuable opportunity to learn more about other innovative NSW businesses, and how the State Government is supporting them and utilising them.

This week, Carbonix founder Dario Valenza attended the Sea-Air-Space 2024 Conference and Exposition with ArgenTech Solutions, Inc. CEO Brian Veroneau and Quickstep Group Steve Osborne - two of our key partners.

We welcomed the opportunity to meet with key stakeholders in defence and engage our American-based partners. Collaborating and speaking with decision-makers allowed us to share and quantify the positive strategic, operational, and cost impacts achieved with RPAS for aerial data capture and situational awareness. Sharing operational requirements and capabilities again highlighted the increasing number of use cases and growing adoption of UAVs across the defence sector.

Thanks to team Defence Australia for sharing their stand throughout the event, inviting interested attendees, catching up with the Australian Minister of Defence Industry Pat Conroy MP, and allowing us to showcase Volanti on display as an example of leading Australian sovereign capability.

Our founder, Dario Valenza, is travelling to the United States this month for the Sea Air Space 2024 Conference and Exposition - the premier Sea Forces exposition in the US. He’ll be joined by representatives from two of our key partners: Brian Veroneau of ArgenTech Solutions, Inc. and Steve Osbourne of Quickstep Group

With drones becoming central to defence strategies across the globe, the Sea-Air-Space conference presents an excellent opportunity to strengthen our already close ties with our American-based partners and the defence industry.

We’re fortunate to be travelling with the endorsement of the Australian government, and we’ll be showcasing our Volanti UAV at the Team Defence Australia stand. If you’ll be attending the show as well, be sure to come past!

In another first, leading Australian RPAS innovator Carbonix has dramatically increased its payload capacity by using multiple aircraft to collaboratively carry payloads suspended from slings.

Leveraging the extraordinary flight stability and strength of Carbonix airframes, alongside AI capabilities to dynamically coordinate precision formation flying (and some common sense that more aircraft can carry more weight) – our aircraft fleet can now take flight with even heavier, more precious payloads suspended between them!

Although initially aimed at aerial data capture, Carbonix has expanded its core capabilities to remote cargo delivery.

Senior Carbonix engineer Arthur, of Camelot, stated “Driven by the escalating demand for multiple payloads and additional equipment, we took inspiration from historical debates about how small migratory birds may have introduced exotic fruits to temperate regions of Europe. Having done some basic calculations about weight ratios and air-speed velocity, we began testing immediately.”

The SWArming Laterally Level Optimised Wingman (SWALLOW) system, will revolutionise cargo transportation using modern technological capabilities implemented by Carbonix.

Flying Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) has previously been out of reach for long-range Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) carrying survey-grade payloads - but not anymore! Carbonix, in partnership with SA Power Networks (SAPN), has successfully completed a CASA-approved 150km powerline inspection flight in remote South Australia.

Carbonix long-range UAS improve safety and efficiency by providing enhanced data at 80% less cost and with an incredible 98% reduction in CO2 output. This milestone marks a huge leap forward, unlocking scale for Australia's UAS industry. It's also a win for electricity customers, providers, and environmental sustainability.

The team at Carbonix recently attended RPAS in Australian Skies 2024, hosted by AAUS - Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems.

Carbonix CEO, Philip van der Burg moderated a discussion on how the evolving regulatory framework is impacting increasingly advanced UAS operations.

The panel explored how the growing volume and complexity of commercial drone flights is putting more pressure on regulatory bodies. Bringing stakeholders together for such discussions is crucial to understand how to effectively manage and navigate these changing conditions collaboratively.

This landmark event for the Australian drone industry offered the opportunity to hear from leading speakers and experts on a diverse range of UAV-related topics. It was great to connect with many friends and industry partners (RIEGL and Phase One).

We look forward to the next one!
