A consultation with Lighter Footprint Solutions involves the following: - An energy audit of your home in which we measure how much energy each appliance is using, and what this amounts to over a year. This highlights when appliances are using energy unnecessarily, which are the most energy efficient, and which are in need of replacing. - Go through your utility bill, and provide assistance in getting the best energy deals to suit your household. - Use thermal imaging to investigate the thermal efficiency of the house. This imaging process can help spot cracks that cause draughts and locate areas of poor insulation. Fixing these problems can greatly improve the ability of the house to maintain a stable temperature, and reduce costs associated with heating and cooling. - Provide an opportunity for you to discuss the effectiveness of installing different renewable energy / hot water systems. - Investigate ways to reduce waste, and minimise the use of plastic / paper / disposable products. - Discuss options to DIY retrofit your house with energy and water efficient technologies. - Investigate ideas to minimise the presence of toxins in the home, and to improve indoor air quality.
