When a standard cooler won’t fit, the solution may need to be engineered—not simply sourced.

The cooler featured in this video arrived in Australia as part of an imported machine. Its cooling element was not suited to the operating environment and was becoming clogged with debris.

OEM Dynamics assessed the failure, reverse engineered the existing unit and redesigned the cooling arrangement to allow debris to pass more freely.

For this particular project, the redesigned replacement was supplied in less than six weeks.

From reverse engineering and cooler selection through to design, fabrication and assembly, OEM Dynamics supports custom air cooler and replacement heat exchanger projects from our Ballina, NSW facility.

Need to identify a splined coupling, hub or shaft?

Start with four important details:

1. Component type
2. Number of spline teeth
3. Approximate spline diameter
4. Overall length

Then compare the complete spline specification before ordering. Components that look similar—or even begin to fit together—are not necessarily interchangeable.

Our new practical guide shows the complete process, including how to find the matching product through the OEM Dynamics website.

Watch the video and read the guide:

Find it. Check it. Order it online.

Well done Toby — proud apprentice moment at OEM Dynamics

We are proud to recognise Toby, our 2nd-year Certificate III Engineering apprentice, who recently competed in the WorldSkills Australia 2026 Regional Turning Competition held at the Wollongbar TAFE campus.

Toby was one of seven competitors who stepped up to test their turning, measurement, planning and machining skills in a competitive trade environment.

Entering a competition like this is a strong achievement. It takes confidence to put your skills to the test, work under pressure and represent your trade.

At OEM Dynamics, we are proud to support apprentices as they develop the practical skills, discipline and problem-solving ability needed in Australian manufacturing.

Well done Toby. A great effort and a valuable experience.

Does your gearbox lubrication system need better cooling, filtration or monitoring?

OEM Dynamics designs and manufactures custom l**e oil systems that combine cooling, oil circulation, filtration, instrumentation and controls into one integrated package.

Rather than coordinating separate suppliers for the cooler, pump, filters, valves, frame, pipework and monitoring equipment, customers can work with one Australian engineering and manufacturing partner.

Systems can be designed to include:

- Air-cooled or water-cooled heat exchangers
- Simplex or duplex oil filtration
- Pumps, motors, tanks and reservoirs
- Pressure and temperature protection
- Filter-condition and system monitoring
- Pipework, frames and electrical controls

Watch our new video and learn how OEM Dynamics can engineer a lubrication and cooling package around your gearbox and operating conditions.

Here is an example of an engineered design upgrade.

This splined slip hub came to us as a welded 2-piece component. We reverse engineered and redesigned it into a single-piece CNC machined part using 4140 steel, finished with nitriding for durability.

And manufatured the matng shaft.

* Stronger
* More reliable
* Built to last
