The total area regularly serviced by the firm becomes a region of 535,963 square kilometres (approximately twice the size of the state of Victoria), with an estimated total population of 50,000.

Proud to support regional Queensland — then and now 💧

For over 80 years, GBA Consulting Engineers has been living and working in regional and remote Queensland, with our head office still proudly based in Barcaldine.

Today, we continue that commitment through our role as Regional Coordinator for three QWRAP alliances — RAPADWSA, NWQRWA and SWQWSA — supporting 21 councils across western Queensland.

In regions where distance, scale and resourcing create real challenges, coordination plays a vital role in supporting councils to:
✔ Access technical expertise
✔ Collaborate and share knowledge
✔ Deliver critical water and sewerage projects
✔ Strengthen funding opportunities

We were honoured to be a major sponsor of the 2026 Springsure Mountain Challenge – an incredible annual Mother’s Day fundraiser that brings people together for a great cause.
From the challenging 32km course to the Mini Miler, this event truly captures the spirit of community, resilience, and fun for all ages.

This year’s event supported the Royal Flying Doctor Service - Queensland Section and the Springsure Hospital & Palliative Care Unit—organisations that make a real difference in regional communities.

Our team was proud to attend the official opening of the redeveloped Springsure Aquatic Centre. We were pleased to support Council in delivering this much‑loved community facility, which has already become a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike.
If you’re passing through Springsure, we highly recommend stopping in to enjoy the upgraded centre — The view from the pool is hard to beat!

What a year 2025 has been!

It has been an incredible year delivering engineering solutions that support regional industries. Our commitment to our clients and communities drives everything we do.

Today, as we farewell the year, we especially celebrate our commitment to excellence and our drive to go above and beyond for our clients and communities. We thank our clients in regional Queensland, contractors, and the entire community for being part of our 2025.
We are excited to continue building, designing, and engineering projects that impact our rural communities.

We did it!

Last month, our team proudly took part in the Oceans to Outback Challenge to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia

As a company that values the community we live in, we are proud to have made this together and see the great participation of our staff across our offices. What an amazing effort from the team on fundraising and kilometres logged!

We are incredibly proud and grateful to have raised a phenomenal $11,690, making us the 7th highest workplace fundraiser in the 2025 Oceans to Outback Challenge! Well done, team and community! We are glad with the amazing impact we have made together.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, donated, and supported our team throughout the challenge. Thanks to our community for supporting us and being part of this amazing journey.

It is the festive season again!

As we approach the end of the year, GBA would like to advise that our offices will be closed from Friday, 19 December. We will resume normal services in our Rockhampton and Toowoomba offices from Monday, 5 January 2026, and in our Barcaldine and Emerald offices, reopening on Monday, 12 January. Thank you for being part of our community throughout 2025.
