To the untrained eye, it might look like just another dipper handle. But this P&H 4100XPC AC dipper handle, freshly completed by our talented Bendigo team, carries a suite of engineering upgrades that set it apart.
Key enhancements include;
⚙️ Machined weld preps: this helps deliver consistent geometry, improved fusion, and reduced residual stress.
⚙️ No backing bars: these eliminate a common crack initiation point and improving long term structural integrity.
⚙️ Varied plate thickness: optimised through FEA to distribute load paths more efficiently across the handle.
Welded to Hofmann Standards
As always, every weld is completed to stringent Hofmann Engineering procedures. This ensures durability, reliability, and service life that consistently exceeds mine site expectations.
This handle is now heading to an Australian coal operation, ready for hard service with engineering confidence built in.
