Powder room reno wrapped up.

These clients were sick of walking 5+ metres to the bathroom to wash their hands. Solution = we extended the room by 1m to fit in a proper hand basin, swung the door the opposite way and gave the whole space an upgrade with new fixtures while we were there ✨

Mitred Edge vs. Metal Trim đźšż Nothing sparks a debate quite like how to handle the external corners of a tile.

The “best” finish usually depends on the style of the home and the look you’re trying to achieve.

The Mitred Finish -
This is the gold standard for a seamless, architectural look. By cutting the tiles at a 45-degree angle, the pattern wraps perfectly into the niche without any visible joints or metal. It’s clean, sophisticated, and makes the niche look like it was carved straight out of the wall. Cons? They can be prone to chipping and labour intensive to install $$$. Good news tho, Grant our certified installer loves doing mitres!

Trim finish -
For a cheaper alternative aesthetic, we use trim. This frames the niche and acts as a design feature in itself, tying the whole space together by matching the shower rail, accessories & mixer. It’s a great way to add definition and protect the tile edges in high traffic family bathrooms.
