We all have at least one story about an ROV problem in the field: tether entanglement, power failure, loss of control, thruster failure... and some of us have even ended up in the water to retrieve our vehicle.
We came across this article recently where an expedition's primary ROV got entangled in nylon survey line and the back-up ROV sent to retrieve the primary vehicle also got stuck. 😬

The depth of Roaring River Spring Cave remains a mystery. Goodspeed Publishing’s “1888 History of Barry County” records the depth to be “fathomless,” but better-equipped explorers later attached more concrete figures to that fathom.
