📌 KMART TOOWOOMBA SHOPPING CENTRE

Bayside Australia was recently assigned by loyal clients at McConaghy to install bird spikes above the rear entrance door at the Kmart Toowoomba Shopping Centre, as well as repair any potholes throughout the car park.

The team started at 5am to minimise impact to the shopping centre, as there was a large amount of work to do. As you can see, the job was completed to a high standard, with commendations from the team at McConaghy.

BP KAMBALDA DEMOLITION

Bayside Australia was recently engaged to remove a house constructed from asbestos. The house belonged to the manager of the adjacent Kambalda BP Service Station, with the property containing asbestos materials in the roof, walls and ceilings.

Fortunately, the region is isolated, and all the materials were carefully removed, wrapped and prepared for disposal in a licensed landfill area.

Another successful project delivered by the team at Bayside Australia.

BENTLEY HOSPITAL GETS A NEW ROOF

Impressively awarded the contract by the Department of Health, Bayside Australia recently undertook the notable reroofing of Bentley Hospital.

The project scope included:

◾️ Replacement of the original 2,100m2 trim deck roof.
◾️ Waterproofing 1,300m2 of the concrete roof.
◾️ Repairing the concrete roof - a lightweight screed needed to be applied prior to the final membrane being installed. This work is still ongoing due to the challenging winter rain.
◾️ Installation of permanent safety rails surrounding the space associated with the concrete roof areas.

The work had to be carried out on the weekends, with the hospital needing to remain operational at all times. The work was completed without incident in cooperation with Coastal Roofing, who was a great asset to the Bayside team.

ALL THE WAY TO DENMARK – PART THREE

The team has been busy working on a new SIP home build down in picturesque Denmark.

We are pleased to report the house pad has been laid, and the floor plates have been installed, ready for the walls and roof to be placed; however, bad weather has postponed work on-site for now - we will be back to build the walls and roof as soon as the weather permits. We expect to get to lock-up within three days!

This is a small house designed by John Munn for a retired client. It will be off-grid with solar power and battery storage, water collection tanks, water heating by heat pump, all fully double glazed with electrically operated clerestory windows. The SIP panels provide excellent thermal properties ensuring comfortable living spaces!

SUBIACO EXTENSION – PART TWO

The second of the Subiaco renovations is an extension to the upper floor(s) of a two-storey residence.

The house had an unusual layout – the north side upper level and south side upper level had no connection; each side had its own staircase. The client had originally engaged designer John Munn to develop a ground floor extension; however, when looking through the existing drawings, John creatively recommended cutting back the two intersecting roofs, building new walls and roofs to form a space below.

The owners now have access to a formerly inaccessible roof space which has been converted into a bedroom, bathroom and walk-in robe. One of the staircases on the ground floor has also been removed, resulting in additional floor space.

WE HAVE BEEN BUSY – PART ONE

Over the past few weeks, the team has been busy with three residential projects - two renovations in Subiaco and a new house build using SIP in Denmark, WA.

Join us as we take you through our recent projects, starting with Gloster Street in Subiaco.

The project on this beautiful family home is now complete; it involved dormer roof extensions to the east and west side of the house. We removed the existing pitched roof to make use of inaccessible floor space; this significantly increased the floor area, allowing us to enlarge two bedrooms and a bathroom.

As you can see, the finished result is impressive, and our clients are ecstatic about not only adding extra space to the house but the resale value as well.

BP COOMERA GETS A NEW FENCE 💪

Bayside Australia was recently engaged by BP Coomera Travel Centre to erect a fence around an existing waterhole as a safety precaution. The works included two sets of gates for access and approximately 230 lineal meters of 1,200mm high chain mesh fence.

We are pleased to say that the project was completed on time, on budget, and our clients were happy with the end result.

URGENT PROJECT AT LOCAL HOSPITAL

Bayside Australia is proud to deliver an urgent renovation at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, involving the relocation of the IV Therapy, Plastics and Pain Management services. With the pressing COVID-19 circumstances, our exceptional team delivered the much-needed COVID-19 facility expansion - an expansion that is usually an eight-week process - in just twelve days! This includes the delivery of minor procedure, IV and treatment rooms, sterile stock storage offices, universal access toilet and kitchen facilities.

The internal renovations to two levels were incredibly quick, with demolition taking place to make way for wall frames, ceiling and door installations, insulation, curtain railing fittings, glass frosting and plumbing and electrical fit outs. Also installed were UAT toilets, vinyl floor and wall coverings, paintings, air-conditioning installation, and modifications and fire emergency system upgrades.

As the business was operational, the team were only permitted to have the site closed for one day and an air monitoring and clearance certificate were required before the eaves could be re-instated.
