Position Overview
The successful candidate will be a trade-qualified Carpenter with strong practical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality work. This role involves a range of residential and commercial carpentry tasks, working both independently and as part of a small, experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform all aspects of carpentry
• Read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete assigned tasks within required timeframes with a high standard of workmanship
• Work collaboratively with other trades, site supervisors, and clients
• Follow WHS guidelines and maintain a clean, safe job site
• Assist with problem-solving and provide practical input on building and construction methods
Requirements
• Trade qualification in Carpentry (Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent)
• Construction White Card
• Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience preferred (but all qualified carpenters considered)
• Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and safe work practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Own tools

Construction Labourer

Lawrie Building Services Pty Ltd is a locally based building and construction company servicing Gladstone and Central Queensland. With more than 25 years of industry experience, we undertake a broad range of residential, commercial, industrial, civil and maintenance projects.
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Labourer to join our team. This is a hands-on role involving general site labouring as well as driving company vehicles to transport materials, tools and equipment.
About the role
Your duties will include:
• General construction and site labouring
• Delivering and collecting materials, tools and equipment
• Driving company light-rigid vehicles
• Loading and unloading vehicles
• Assisting tradespeople and supervisors
• Site setup, clean-up and waste removal
• Using basic hand and power tools
• Following site safety procedures, SWMS and supervisor instructions
• Helping maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment
Essential requirements
Applicants must have:
• A current LR—Light Rigid—driver licence
• A current Construction White Card
• Previous labouring, construction or maintenance experience
• The ability to safely perform physically demanding and manual work
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
• A reliable, punctual and positive approach to work
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Additional construction licences, machinery tickets and trade experience will be highly regarded.
