What an incredible night at the Co‑Op Schools Careers Fair — more than 750 people came through the doors, and the energy was fantastic.

From aspiring electricians and engineers to future environmental scientists and diesel mechanics, it was inspiring to meet so many young people exploring the pathways that will shape their futures. These conversations matter. Career fairs open doors, spark ideas, and show students what’s possible — because you can’t be what you can’t see.

A huge thank you to Finn, Zach, Morgan and Nicki for giving up their evening to share their insights and career journeys. Your stories genuinely make a difference.

Thanks for the invite: Scotch Oakburn College Launceston Grammar St Patrick's College, Launceston Launceston Christian School

We had an awesome day at Lilydale District School working with Grade 10 students on making a great first impression! 🙌

Through our partnership with the Beacon Foundation, we explored what it takes to succeed - from being curious and asking great questions, to listening, communicating clearly, and working as a team 💬✨

The lunchtime networking session was full of energy, and the students absolutely shone in their mock interviews — so impressive to see their confidence grow! 👏

A huge shoutout to Seve, Catelyn and Rikki for getting involved and helping make the day such a success! 🙏

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts in our latest Pulse Survey 🙌

This year’s survey (January–February 2026) placed a stronger focus on community wellbeing and resilience, and your feedback is already helping us identify where we can keep improving.

Here’s what we heard:
✅ 392 community members shared their views
✅ 63% of respondents have called the region home for over 10 years
✅ 76% have never worked for or contracted to BBA

Encouragingly, results show:
💬 Trust remains steady at 3.31/5
🤝 Acceptance remains strong at 3.69/5

Your voices matter, and your insights help shape how we move forward together. We’re committed to listening, learning, and continuing to build a stronger community 💙

🌱 Smiles all around at our annual tree planting day! 🌱

These happy faces are just some of the incredible people who helped make this year’s annual BBA Tree Planting Day such a success 👏

Earlier this week, we welcomed students from Port Dalrymple School Star of the Sea Catholic College and South George Town Primary to join us on Rio Tinto land to plant more than 2,000 seedlings 🌿

It was a fantastic day filled with learning, teamwork, and plenty of fun as we worked together to restore habitat and care for our local environment 💚

A huge thank you to the George Town Rotary Club for keeping everyone energised with a delicious barbecue — a highlight not just for the students, but for our team as well!

We’re proud to be part of a community that comes together to make a real difference 🌏

Last Thursday evening, we laced up and stepped onto the starting line for the very first Rio Run Club Bell Bay session.

As we count down to the McGrath Launceston Running Festival on 31 May, we’re proud to have Australian Olympic marathon runner Milly Clark guiding our team on how to put their best foot forward.

Learning from someone of Milly’s experience is not only motivating — it reflects our commitment to investing in initiatives that support our people’s wellbeing, both in the workplace and beyond.

The Run Club is about building healthy habits, encouraging connection, and creating a welcoming environment where our people — and their families — can support one another. These moments of shared activity and wellbeing are an important part of our culture.

💗 Proud to support a cause close to our hearts 💗

We were honoured to be an in‑kind sponsor of the first Mother's Day Classic - Launceston, TAS, held at Inveresk on Sunday.

The Mother’s Day Classic raises vital funds for breast and ovarian cancer research. Since 1998, an incredible $48.23 million has been donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and $2.57 million to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

Thanks to ongoing research, the five‑year survival rate for breast cancer has improved from 84% to 92%. While this progress is encouraging, there’s still more work to be done - particularly for ovarian cancer, which currently has no early detection test.

Events like this make a real difference, and we’re proud to play our part. Thank you to Maxene and Morgan for proudly flying the BBA flag on the day!

Some of our graduates returned to school at Port Dalrymple School to share their learning and experiences with students as part of the Beacon Foundation Polish Program.

Through mock interviews and meaningful conversations, students gained valuable insight into the world of work, built confidence, and learned how to recognise and articulate their own strengths. Hearing real stories and receiving thoughtful, encouraging feedback helped students feel supported, motivated, and curious about what their future could hold.

A huge thank you to BBA's Jess, Maxene and Serena for helping young people walk away with new skills, fresh confidence, and belief in themselves.

🔔 And that’s a wrap!

We hope you’ve enjoyed learning more about the aluminium smelting process at our operations. This week marks the final tile in our smelting facts series—and what a journey it’s been!

From raw materials to finished metal, we’re proud to play a role in powering industry while being a local employer, supporting jobs and the supply chain right across Tasmania.

Thanks for following along and sharing the journey with us.

✨ Site Visit Highlight ✨

Earlier this month, Bell Bay Aluminium hosted the Tasmanian Minerals, Manufacturing and Energy Council Board onsite.

The feedback from the visit was incredibly encouraging. The board was particularly impressed by the strong circular economy in action at BBA, from recycling waste products within our own operations to finding valuable uses beyond site.

Board member Kelly Elphinstone, of the Elphinstone Group, shared that all young Tasmanians should have the opportunity to visit Bell Bay Aluminium to see firsthand where things come from and how they are made. (We're more than happy to accommodate your school group - please reach out!)

It was wonderful to share how many Tasmanian businesses are supported through our operation - something we are incredibly proud of. Thank you to TMEC for visiting and for recognising our ongoing commitment to supporting the Tasmanian economy.
