Flashback to the first major project Tim was involved in, the Alcan Gove G3 expansion.
Remembering having to repair 100's of welders next to the beach behind fences with crocodiles in sight or the old beaten up BOC shed 😆😆.
The only reliable way to get gear in and out was on a barge or plane.
Fond memories of agricultural methods for replacing stators, and crates and crates of ESAB Choppers and inverter boards replaced.
Each trip would be booked when a 40 foot container was filled and didn't leave until everything was repaired, there would have been 8+ trips.
The spreadsheets of machines to be repaired was daunting, 40°+ heat, working in a blue farmers singlet but got the job done.
Fond memories from the Hog Shed's Sunday live music, the lookout, Yacht club, Wet mess's $3 Bundy's or $2 beers or the animal bar's questionable entertainment 😅

🏭 The refinery in 2005, roughly when the town's population peaked at over 4000.
♻️ In the last few years, so much of what you can see here has since been scraped in the largest demolition project in Australia's history - about 142000 tonnes of steel and 300000 tonnes of concrete, as part of a massive recycling project.
🏗️ And so much of what of what has been demolished hasn't yet been built in this photo - this was taken during construction for the G3 Expansion.
