G'day folks, long time no post, I'm (yet again) going to try to post up some stuff here a bit more often.

So this is a bit of a preview of an upcoming video, continuing on from a hole I dug a while ago, I'm following the little gutter with the gold in it down into the old diggings.

This is the gold from one 10l bucket of wash in a standard goldpan and the other photo is the bottom of the wash where it came from.

You can see the paler colour center of the photo of the hole and up to the gravel and clay, that paler stuff is the pipeclay bottom and that plus the couple of cm above it carries most of the gold.

It's exciting as the gutter dipped sharply all of a sudden so there may well be richer washdirt in there just up ahead ;-)

Video was supposed to be up on YT next week but last nights 25mm of rain has made it soft, slippery and too sloppy to dig in despite the rock hard clay. I'll give it the week to dry and get stuck in ASAP.

It has been way too long since I posted on here (again...) Soooo, I thought I'd share some Sunday afternoon viewing for you.

These are a couple of small adits (gold mine tunnels) local to Ballarat, Victoria Australia. The last one of these is a very interesting mine, two small stopes back to back with only a meter or two between them is fairly unusual to see.

All these reefs dip towards the east too, not the usual west dipping reefs. This is all part of a huge lode system that produced a lot of gold historically.
