For many, the single house on the quarter acre block is no longer a necessity. Clever and carefully considered design of indoor and outdoor space delivers two, 4-bedroom, architect-designed homes each on their own block. Super energy efficient and designed for the way we live now.

This recent project by Banksia Bayside’s team, shows how respect for the local building fabric will gain swift and unanimous Council approval. Currently under construction.

Planning and Amenity Committee Meeting on 10 May 2022:
Cr. Clarke Martin: "It’s a big site but it’s going to provide two homes…it’s got a lot of open space…beautiful trees and a really great lifestyle… and it just goes to show that there’s obviously developers in Beaumaris who can see a lot of profit by not over-building. It’s winning on so many scales."

Cr. Laurie Evans: "Big tick from me, a simple building, exposed beams, a difference of materials to break up the simplicity, a really nice couple of dwellings there. But I do also think that the palette of materials is great and fits in with Beauy."

This ensuite bathroom is bathed in natural sunlight throughout the morning across all seasons, while remaining completely private.

Its generous size includes twin basins, large, under basin drawers and a roomy shower. 600 x 600 terrazzo floor tiles continue up the wall to meet white finger tiles that extend right to the ceiling, creating a subtle, textured surface. The effect is cool, clean and understated. Details such as timber towel k***s create a warm, homey, welcoming feel.
