Supporting Local Sport Means Supporting Local Businesses
At Diesel Fleet Services Group, we receive a considerable number of sponsorship requests each year—primarily from local teams, clubs and individuals. We genuinely value the opportunity to support our community and are proud to contribute where we can.
However, sponsorship is most meaningful when it is a two-way partnership. Before approaching a local business for support, it is worth considering whether you, your family, your team or your club also support that business. Do you use their services? Do you recommend them to friends, family and colleagues? Have you considered directing work or enquiries their way?
Local businesses often contribute to sporting teams, community clubs and events year after year. In return, the most valuable support they can receive is genuine loyalty from the people and organisations they help. This may be as simple as choosing their business when you need their services, referring potential customers, sharing their details, or acknowledging their contribution within your networks.
When your child’s team or club asks for sponsorship, take a moment to think about the businesses that already support it. If we want local organisations to continue investing in our community, we should also make an effort to support them.
