Today is International Day of Women in Mining — a global moment to recognise the contributions of women across our industry. 👷‍♀️♀️

At Newmont Boddington, women like Allaina are building rewarding careers and helping shape the future of mining.

For Allaina, finding the right career meant taking a different path. After starting out in nursing, she chose to pursue a trade, looking for stability and a hands-on role.

Now an Auto Electrician at Newmont Boddington, she enjoys the variety each day brings.

“No day is the same — the best part is the satisfaction of fixing a tricky fault,” says Allaina. 🔧

It’s also the environment that’s made an impact.

“Everyone looks out for each other. Mining isn’t as rough as I thought — the safety and systems in place make it a great place to work.” 🦺

Allaina is passionate about encouraging more women to consider a career in mining.

“100% go for it. Be yourself and don’t worry about the stigma — everyone is supportive.” 🤝

Are you ready to kickstart your career in mining?

Applications are now open for our Gnaala Work Ready Program – a training program specifically designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people seeking a supported pathway into the mining industry.

Over twelve weeks, participants will experience classroom-based learning and hands-on work experience across our operations, coupled with mentorship and support from experienced Newmont employees.

We are looking for people who:

⭐ Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
⭐ Are connected to the Gnaala Karla Booja/Noongar community (encouraged)
⭐ Hold a current driver's license and are willing to undergo a police clearance
⭐ Are committed to learning and building a career
⭐ Demonstrate reliability, attendance and
⭐ Are willing to participate fully in both training and on-site work activities

Congratulations to the Williams Wildlife Warriors! 👏

We’re proud to celebrate their win in the Behaviour Change and Engagement category at the 2026 Australian Tidy Towns Sustainability Awards.

Driven by a passion for protecting the local environment, the Williams Wildlife Warriors bring together local school students who meet after school to learn about their natural surroundings and take action to care for it. Their success is supported by the dedication of local volunteers, the Williams Community Resource Centre, and Newmont Boddington through planting days, conservation activities, and funding via our Community Assistance Program.

We’re delighted to support initiatives like this that strengthen environmental stewardship, community connection and sustainability, and we look forward to seeing the continued positive impact the Williams Wildlife Warriors make. 🌱

Over the past two weekends, family and friends have hopped aboard our tour buses to experience firsthand the scale, innovation and teamwork that is Newmont Boddington, before heading back into town for a fantastic line-up of food, exhibitions and activities for all ages.

🐾 From recovery to release – a little bushfire miracle🐾

In the aftermath of the Christmas bushfires, two injured possums were found by our Newmont Boddington team and quickly given the care they needed thanks to the incredible volunteers at the Darling Range Wildlife Shelter – a not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to helping injured native wildlife. 💚

Wanting to lend a hand, employees from Boddington and our Perth Hub came together to run a donation drive – collecting medical supplies, towels, rags and cash donations to support the Shelter’s vital work. Recently, our team had the chance to deliver the donations in person, meet the passionate volunteers, and see firsthand the love and care given to every animal. 🙌🐨

We’re delighted to share that the possums – now named Phoenix and Ember 🔥 – have both made a strong recovery and are continuing to gain strength as they prepare for their release back into the wild. A beautiful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together to care. ✨💛

🦎 Every day brings something different for our Environment team, and this rescue was no exception!

When a large monitor lizard found himself stuck in an open pit on site, our team sprang into action. While uncovered holes are avoided wherever possible, this one was briefly open during a job – long enough for a curious visitor to investigate 👀

Trained to handle native wildlife, including reptiles, snakes and marsupials, the team safely rescued the lizard and gave him the fitting name Brad Pit 😄 After a quick health check (and a gentle reminder not to try that again), Brad was safely released back into the forest 🌿

Just another day in the field for our Environment team, who work year‑round to protect, monitor and care for the flora and fauna around our operations 💚

On Saturday we were delighted to host the first of our 2026 Newmont Boddington Family Fun Days, welcoming our team members and their families to site for a special behind-the-scenes look at where we work.

Family members boarded tour buses to see the impressive scale of Newmont Boddington up close – from our open pits and heavy machinery, to the processing plant and accommodation village. It was a great opportunity to share a snapshot of daily life at Boddington and what goes on behind the scenes of a working mine site.

Following the tours, the fun continued with a range of activities, food, exhibitions and stalls for everyone of all ages to enjoy. The day was filled with smiles, curiosity and great conversations.

Last week, our Newmont Boddington Social Performance team fired up the barbecue at the Boddington Bushfire Brigade to say a heartfelt thank you to the emergency service volunteers, landholders and community members who stood shoulder‑to‑shoulder during the December and January bushfires across Boddington and Wandering. 🔥🤝

These were some of the most severe fires our region has faced. While the physical recovery continues, the emotional toll can take longer to surface – and that’s just as important to acknowledge. 🧠💬

That’s why we’re proud to partner with the Tree Project 💙 to support ongoing mental health and wellbeing in our community. It starts with connection – a simple barbecue, a conversation – and continues with regular visits from counsellor Simon Comerford, offering a relaxed one‑on‑one drop‑in for a chat and a cuppa in a comfortable setting. ☕🌿

Supporting our community is part of the recovery journey – and we’re committed to being there for the long haul. 💪💛

Today, our team at Newmont Boddington came together to mark ANZAC Day with a dawn service on site — a moving moment of remembrance and reflection.

More than 100 employees attended the service, honouring the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand Defence Force members, past and present.

The dawn service was organised by Stuart Clarke and supported by colleagues across site, creating a meaningful and inclusive space for our workforce to pause, reflect and pay their respects.
