NAIDOC week acknowledges our First Nations people , who occupied and cared for our country for over 65000 years . It invites us to learn about the Indigenous and Torres Straight Islander People, which is our own Australian history.

This year's theme " " focuses on embracing First Nation’s cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia's national heritage. Healing Country is about the historical, political, and administrative landscapes adapting to successfully empower and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, nations, and heritage.

industries throughout Australia.

The Role

Omeo Aboriginal Services is seeking 6 experienced Electro Fusion (EF) Poly Pipe Welders for a project on a mining site.

Qualifications & Experience

A minimum of 2+ years experience within the EF Poly Pipe Welding industry
Own hand tools
Whitecard
A positive attitude and keen work ethic coupled with solid time management and organisational skills
Tasks & Responsibilities

Adhering to Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements
Willingness to undertake 2-3 days mine induction (paid)
Pass mine medical, which includes drug and alcohol testing (paid)
Have own PPE: Hard Hat, Long Sleeve Hi-Vis Shirt, Long Pants, Glasses, Gloves and Steel Cap Boots

The design for Adelaide’s Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre (AACC), scheduled to open in 2025, has been unveiled.

The design, with overlapping layers encircling a central gathering space, is inspired by the temporary shelters – known as wurlies, humpies and gunyahs – created by First Nations peoples across Australia.

The $200 million site will feature fresh and saltwater reflection pools, an outdoor gallery and amphitheatre and views of nature.

Construction is scheduled to start later this year and the centre is due to open in early 2025.
