💧⚡ Water and electrical circuits don’t mix!

With recent wet weather, we’ve seen an increase in electrical issues caused by water entering electrical circuits, switchboards, and electrical components. Even a small amount of moisture can lead to short circuits, system failures, safety hazards, and costly repairs.

If you’ve experienced power interruptions, tripped safety switches, or your air conditioning system isn’t operating as it should after heavy rain, it’s important to have it inspected by a qualified technician.

Stay safe, avoid attempting electrical repairs yourself, and contact a professional if you suspect water damage to any electrical equipment.

🔌💡⚡️Power outages and use of air conditioning systems

As power resumes to your home, it’s important to check your air conditioning units for any damage.

1. Turn off your air conditioner unit with the remote/central controller.
2. Locate the outdoor unit.
3. Locate the isolator switch – a large plastic V-shaped switch, typically located on the wall next to the outdoor unit.
4. Turn the isolator switch off.
5. Leave the unit for 30 minutes.
6. Turn the isolator switch on and activate the system.
7. Check for any errors with the unit (have the video record function on your phone ready to go).

Don’t forget to record details such as time and date of the power outages for insurance purposes and claims for air conditioning units.

Resetting your air conditioning in this way can often resolve minor power interruption problems.

If the problem persists after the air conditioning reset, it’s time to give us a call.
