Symbio at APFAN 2026
It was great to see our Managing Director, Bruce Chen, speaking at the APFAN Conference in Perth as part of the International Workshop on Regional Leadership in Food Analysis for Safety, Trade and Innovation.
Bruce presented on “Mycotoxin Sampling: Impact of Sampling Procedures on Analytical Results”, exploring the important role that sampling procedures play in obtaining reliable analytical results.
We’re proud to have our team sharing knowledge and contributing to conversations around food safety, food analysis and innovation across the region.

Inspiring the next generation of scientists

Our Brisbane Microbiology Lab Manager and Team Member recently had the opportunity to speak with students at Griffith University about careers in science and what it’s really like working in a laboratory environment.
It was a great opportunity to share some of the different pathways available in science, talk about the work we do at Symbio and give students an insight into the people and skills behind analytical testing.

We’re always happy to share our experiences and encourage the next generation of science professionals.

As we prepare to open our new laboratory in Launceston, our sales team is attending the Oysters Tasmania Conference to learn more about the current issues and challenges facing the industry.
Our laboratory will offer fast and cost-effective testing, with capabilities being developed across microbiology, biotoxins and other contaminants found in the environment, supporting oyster farmers with local testing services.
