To those who have taken an interest in our work and supported us along the way, we want to share some news of our plans for 2019 and beyond. The past 3 years have been a wild ride - we’ve had the pleasure of collaboratively designing and building to a difficult brief, challenging councils’ laws, having a crack at providing affordable housing, and more than our share of advocacy work. We now feel though that our role has reached its end, and that it’s time for us to focus our energy elsewhere.
(To our existing and past clients, don’t worry - we’re not going anywhere. This is just a heads up about our plans after completing all current commitments.)
So as of 2019, The Tiny House Company will no longer be building tiny houses on wheels. Thank you all so much for the support. It’s been very challenging and deeply fulfilling.
…and as for what’s next for The Tiny House Company, we’re setting our sights on the themes of co-housing, inter-generational housing, and the design and construction of thoughtful, beautiful little homes. And somewhere amongst all that Greg’s going to carry on his fine work leading the team at Greg Thornton Constructions, and Lara and Andrew are getting married, and having a second child.
We have so many more thoughts to share with you, looking back on three years immersed in the world of tiny houses with the clarity of hindsight, but that’s one for another time…
All the very best,
Greg, Andrew and Lara
