EBSA - Australia

A huge congratulations to Arup on a brilliant result at the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards.

Arup’s new Brisbane workplace at 123 Albert Street took home two major awards on the night - Workplace Design and Sustainability Advancement, recognised for its strong connection to place, biophilic design and genuine commitment to environmental responsibility.

We were proud to be part of delivering this project, supplying MP2 frameless glazed louvres and the smoke control panel (installation, programming and commissioning included), supporting natural ventilation and smoke control throughout the fit-out.

The project is targeting both Living Building Challenge and WELL Platinum certification, a first for Australia if achieved. It is fantastic to see that ambition already being recognised on the national awards stage.

Well done to Arup, Hassell, Buildcorp and everyone else involved. We are proud to have played our part on a project setting the bar this high.

EBSA – New Zealand
Project By EBSA Partner: Door & Window Systems Ltd

Congratulations to The Christchurch Court Theatre on its success at the 2026 Property Council New Zealand Industry Awards.

The project received the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Judges’ Choice Award, along with Excellence awards in both the Civic, Health and Arts category and the Sustainable Building category.

Opened in May 2025, the new Court Theatre provides a permanent home in central Christchurch, replacing the temporary venue that served the company following the Canterbury earthquakes. The purpose-built facility includes a 379-seat auditorium, a 150-seat studio theatre, rehearsal and education spaces, and public areas designed to support year-round community engagement.

EBSA was proud to contribute to this project through our long-standing partnership with Door & Window Systems Ltd (DWS), a leading construction technology company based in Hillsborough, Christchurch. DWS services the entire South Island, from Marlborough/Nelson to Queenstown, delivering tailored automation solutions that support the performance, comfort and sustainability goals of commercial, educational and residential developments.

EBSA supplied 59 x VCD0203-250-ACB actuators, 1 x CPSM40 control panel, and cable ducting to DWS, supporting seamless integration within the building’s operable façade systems. The window fabrication was delivered by Thermosash.

Designed in collaboration by Athfield Architects and London-based Haworth Tompkins, the Court Theatre has been purposefully shaped to support a wide range of creative, educational and community-focused functions. The result is a modern, adaptable venue that strengthens the cultural heart of Christchurch.

At EBSA, we remain committed to delivering innovative and unparalleled solutions that elevate the possibilities of architectural design.

EBSA - Australia

Congratulations to all involved in ECU City, which has been recognised with four major honours at the 2026 WA Architecture Awards, including the George Temple Poole Award, the highest architectural award in Western Australia.

The project also received:
• The Hillson Beasley Award for Educational Architecture
• The RJ Gus Ferguson Award for Urban Design
• The Julius Elischer Award for Interior Architecture

Located in the heart of Perth, ECU City has transformed a complex inner-city site into a 11-storey vertical campus that brings together education, creativity, technology and performance spaces within a single purpose-built facility. The jury described the project as an outstanding work of architecture, recognising its contribution to city revitalisation, public engagement and the successful delivery of highly complex technical requirements.

EBSA is proud to have contributed to this award-winning development through the supply of a tailored louvre control system supporting natural ventilation and smoke relief. Our scope included BT90 and MP2 double glazed louvres, digital actuators and control panels integrated within the building's wider systems to support comfort, safety and energy performance.

EBSA - Australia

360 Queen Street sets a new benchmark for premium commercial workplaces in Brisbane’s CBD, combining sustainability, wellness and subtropical design within the city’s Golden Triangle precinct.

EBSA was proud to contribute to the project’s smoke control and natural ventilation strategy, supplying and installing our MP2 frameless thermally broken double-glazed louvre system to the wintergardens on Levels 11, 17, 28 and 32.

The project also included the supply and installation of EBSA’s CPS-M louvre control panel system, interfacing with the BMS via Modbus RTU to support the operation of each wintergarden.

Installed and glazed into the curtain wall within SRG’s offsite facility, the MP2 louvre system was selected for its performance capabilities, including NATA testing to AS2047 achieving 800Pa water performance at 1500mm louvre spans.

Developed by Charter Hall and Investa and built by Hutchies, 360 Queen Street delivers more than 45,000sqm of premium office space across 33 levels, with mixed-mode wintergardens, landscaped terraces and advanced sustainability initiatives targeting 6 Star Green Star, 5 Star NABERS and WELL Platinum Certification.

A significant addition to Brisbane’s evolving skyline and workplace environment.

The new Footscray Hospital achieving a 5 Star Green Star - Design & As Built rating is an important milestone for one of Victoria’s largest health infrastructure projects.

Awarded under the Green Building Council of Australia’s certification system, the rating recognises excellence in sustainable building design and construction, reflecting the project’s focus on environmental performance, operational efficiency, and occupant wellbeing.

Located at the intersection of Geelong and Ballarat Roads, the $1.5 billion development has been designed to support Melbourne’s rapidly growing western suburbs, delivering expanded emergency, specialist, mental health, teaching and research facilities alongside more than 500 inpatient beds.

EBSA was proud to contribute to this landmark healthcare project through the supply and installation of Schneider MP2 double glazed glass louvres and D+H Mechatronic CPS-M control panels, supporting natural ventilation strategies throughout key areas of the facility.

All MP2 louvres installed were rigorously tested and certified to AS/NZS 2047 and seismic performance requirements under AS/NZS 4284, supporting the technical and performance demands of a contemporary healthcare environment.

Congratulations to the project team on this outstanding achievement.

The Ballarat Base Hospital Redevelopment has reached a major milestone, with the 44-metre main tower now topped out as works progress into façade installation, roofing and internal fit-out.

Once complete, the redevelopment will significantly expand healthcare capacity for the Grampians region, delivering a new emergency department, women and children’s hub, critical care facilities, operating theatres, additional inpatient beds and a rooftop helipad.

EBSA is proud to be contributing to this important healthcare project through the supply and installation of motorised LF550 large format frameless glass louvres, together with the D+H Mechatronic ventilation control system and associated controls integration.

Designed for performance and reliability, the LF550 system has been NATA tested to AS2047 and is suitable for demanding building environments, supporting both ventilation and façade performance outcomes.

Delivered for the Victorian Health Building Authority on behalf of Grampians Health, the $655 million redevelopment continues to take shape under Built, with completion scheduled for 2027.

SHEVS Save Lives - saving time with a low-smoke layer

The cause of death in a fire is usually not from burns; more often than not, deaths are as a result of smoke inhalation. Making smoke the main source of danger for the people in the building and for the firefighters.

The consequences are dramatic; within just three minutes, visibility is reduced to such an extent by the smoke that people in the building lose their orientation and can no longer get to safety. The situation is aggravated by the rapidly increasing concentration of carbon monoxide. This rises sharply during the fire and leads to headaches, increasing symptoms of poisoning and unconsciousness, and even death.

Smoke and heat extraction systems that are installed in the roof or near the ceiling can discharge the gases to the outside in a targeted manner so that a sufficiently high low-smoke layer forms above the floor in which escapees and rescue forces can orientate themselves and move around.

EBSA is proud to be Lamilux's partner for the Australian, New Zealand and Canadian markets. The Lamilux products include industry-leading operable glass roof lights and hatches featuring thermally broken, fully drainable profiles able to accept double and triple glazing.
