McVeigh Homes is a Brisbane based company. We build new homes, renovate existing homes, add on extensions & specialise in sloping sites.

e Warwick before trying his hand at carpentry. One important lesson he learnt from growing up on the farm was the value of hard work. Michael has carried this work ethic with him, along with an uncompromising desire to satisfy every client with great service and quality. He has over 30 years experience and knowledge of the building industry as both builder and construction manager, and established McVeigh homes back in 1997. They have a solid reputation and a number of clients who keep coming back to have their second - and third homes built by Michael. McVeigh Homes is a family business. Michael’s wife, Cathy, complements the team by efficiently running the administration in the office, while keeping in contact with every client. Cathy and Michael’s sons are both carpenters and work for the business, along with a group of trusted subcontractors who’ve been working with the McVeigh’s for many years. Michael is very approachable, gives practical advice, problem-solves early and offers great flexibility during the building process. In his words, “we meet regularly on-site and can offer quite a bit of flexibility. For example, many people find it difficult to see a plan and know what that’s going to be like when it’s built. Changes to a window, door or even lighting can often be made for very little cost at the right stage of the process”. He also likes a challenge and is known around Brisbane for his ability to tackle the steepest slope (literally!), having built houses of up to six stories high on steep blocks with limited access. McVeigh homes choose to build an average of 5- 6 homes a year, which means when you build with Michael, you can be assured of a happy and personalise experience.

Seeing the finished product of a building project designed by a good Architect, captured through the lens of a good photographer makes us realise how important great team work is. From start to finish, there is so much involved in getting the product right.

On Boxing Day 2024, a good friend and work colleague passed away peacefully in his sleep.
RIP Wayne Nelson, our Canadian mate.
