☀️ Major Opportunity: Commercial Solar Support Proposed to Expand to 1MW

The Australian Government has announced plans to expand the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) eligibility limit for solar systems from the current 100kW to 1MW.

This proposed change could create significant new opportunities across Australia’s commercial, industrial and agricultural solar markets, helping more businesses reduce upfront installation costs and improve project returns.

Key highlights include:

🔹 SRES eligibility proposed to increase from 100kW to 1MW
🔹 Eligible medium-scale solar projects could save approximately 20% on upfront installation costs
🔹 The incentive would provide an upfront discount similar to the current STC model
🔹 The proposed commencement date is 1 October 2026, subject to legislation and final program details
🔹 The Government is also looking to improve grid connection processes for medium-scale solar projects

This expansion could support more factories, warehouses, shopping centres, farms, schools, hospitals and community facilities to make better use of their rooftop space while reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.

Yesterday marked the final stop of the Raystech Installer Workshop Series at the Solar Training Centre in Adelaide and what a great way to finish!
