Dulux Hog Bristle was the choice, but there’s always that moment of wondering how a colour will translate once it leaves the card and meets weatherboards, Queensland light, and all the other finishes around it.

Safe to say, we’re very happy with this one.

It’s often the quieter details that start to make a house feel like home.

The warmth of timber, the repetition of the balustrade and the way the light moves between levels.

At this stage, the architecture is laid bare. Every line, opening and proportion is there to see, and you start to appreciate just how considered the spaces and details are.

There’s something wonderfully satisfying about seeing it take physical form through framing. The set-out, the repetition of those straight lines, the pitch, and the light and air already beginning to move through the emerging spaces.

One of those stages of a build that deserves a moment before it gets covered.

There’s a stage where the rooms are there, but the home and all its beauty is still revealing itself.

Walls are set in place, windows and doors emerge, and light starts moving through the spaces differently; proportions that once existed on plans are suddenly being felt all around you.

Somewhere between the plans and home, there’s this.

Brilliant architecture gives us plenty to work with. Thoughtful ideas, considered details and spaces designed around how people will actually live.

Then comes the privilege of building it. Timber carried, measurements checked, details worked through and, slowly, the architecture begins to take physical form.

We quite like this part.

Somewhere between the dust, the decisions and all the tiny and intentional details, it starts to feel like home.

A place to arrive, exhale, retreat, create memories and simply be.

Poolside powder room 💦🧼

Deep green gloss tile, tactile Basilica Linen underfoot, warm walnut woodgrain, earthy stone and brushed brass.

The green continues from the pool waterline tiles just outside, tying the two spaces together.

We love this combination. 💚🫧

Every place has a story. This one has a name.

LUMARA

A name that honours the feeling we’re creating and the place it belongs.

Lum + Ara = Lumara.✨

Lum from Lumen, meaning light. Natural light has guided so many of our decisions, from the layout and orientation to the feeling each space creates. We wanted every room to feel soft and bright, calm and inviting.

Ara comes from Araluen, the street in Kedron where this home is being built. Araluen means “place of water lilies” in Dharug.

At Embrace Construction, we believe the homes people embrace are the ones that leave them feeling a deeper emotional connection to the story of space and place.

Welcome to Lumara. ✨
