Of course we called upon Queensland Firebirds goal shooter Mary Cholhok to snap a cracking selfie at a recent community clinic hosted in Mackay. 🏐

Our partnership with the team and Netball Queensland is one we're really proud of. 🙌

It's supporting the liveability of regional Queensland and creating pathways for young athletes to thrive, and who one day might be front and centre for the Firebirds!

Announced today at our October Industry Briefing Lunch, this campaign gives a voice to the 8,500 small and regional businesses that make up Queensland’s mining supply chain.

Queensland’s coal royalties are now the highest in the world, and the impact is being felt across our towns, suppliers and communities. Confidence is falling, projects are slowing and the effects are real.

This isn’t about big mining or politics; it’s about the small businesses, families and regional towns that keep Queensland running.

From the Bowen Basin to Brisbane, over the last month our teams have been at the heart of events that build stronger, safer and more connected communities:

🚲500 rode in our BMA Mackay River 2 Reef Ride Festival (including 15 from team BMA) to raise vital funds for BMA CQ Rescue and Disabled Sport & Rec Mackay.

✏️We kicked off our Future Ready partnership, part of a five-year commitment to STEM education in the Bowen Basin - helping young people build skills for the future.

🚁Our Head of Operations Mariette Bylsma spoke at the BMA CQ Rescue Gala celebrating 30 years of partnership and 13,000 life-saving missions.

🎉We marked 20 years with Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy, a partnership that’s sparked curiosity, shaped futures, and delivered talent for the resources sector.

🏈Peak Downs crew members fielded men’s and women’s teams in the Battle of the Mines rugby league carnival - promoting mental health awareness and raising funds for BMA CQ Rescue. The women’s team took home the grand final trophy!

🏊Our teams raced, volunteered and cheered at the BMA Mackay Triathlon, supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities.

🪨BMA Geologists joined 600 delegates at the Bowen Basin Symposium in Mackay, sharing ideas and solutions to strengthen our industry.

These moments reflect a Better BMA and our commitment to making a difference beyond our mine sites.

Coal mining has been the backbone of regional Queensland for more than half a century.

We are proud to be part of this. As not only the largest employer in the region, but a key contributor in the local communities where we operate.

It’s a role we don’t take lightly, and it’s one we want to continue.

We’ve been very open about the Queensland Government’s unsustainable coal tax, and the real impacts it is having on regional jobs, communities and small businesses.

To put it plainly, for every dollar we make, we pay 67 cents in tax. Clearly that’s not sustainable.

We have a responsibility to speak up and protect the people and communities who rely on our industry.

A family daycare in Dysart is the first to open its doors thanks to funding from BMA's Childcare Project.

The childcare project is a partnership with Family Day Care Australia to help ease childcare needs in the Dysart and Moranbah communities.

The plan is to open more family daycares in the region and support existing daycare providers 🏘️

The YAC members, made up of students from Moranbah and Dysart high schools, went pit-side, learning about autonomous haulage and how far technology has come across the industry.

This is one of the villages that our drive in and drive out (DIDO) and fly in fly out (FIFO) workers call home when on shift.

Our aim is to make your stay comfortable and safe.
