Well!!!
Some weeks certainly start off better than others and this one is a cracker!
I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that after getting this news, I was a little teary... Advocating for a Rising Cause that should have always been Mainstream seems second nature and certainly doesn’t feel like effort.
That said;
I’m proud to announce that I have been nominated for the Lady Tradies 2026 Male Advocate of the Year Award 👏

It’s a bit hard to describe how wonderful it feels to be recognised alongside so many incredible people in the industry. I’m very much looking forward to the event on the 18th of September and celebrating the amazing work happening across the trades.

A big congratulations to the other nominees as well - what amazing recognition!

Today,
Was a special day.
Not in the sense that all our days are special in their own way.
Special in the way that is unique and magnificent.

I was invited to the annual luncheon by the remarkable Manuela Whitford sitting at the table supporting Friends with Dignity Ltd and if there was ever a room full of inspirational humans, that was it.
Everyone each with their own unique passion, story, purpose, and reason for being there.

It was the wrap up of Qld Philanthropy Week and was a total eye opener!

I met some remarkable humans who are now strong connections and listened to so many stories/perspectives of people just out there doing amazing things in the areas they care about.
Not for fame, notoriety or even recognition. But because they found a situation they believed was unacceptable and started DOING THE DOING it takes to create change.

I even found myself a Nan… I haven’t had a close Nan in my life and this gorgeous woman assumed the role instantly…
She’s creating housing solutions for elderly women who have fallen through the cracks…
And omg she was such a warm human.

The event reminded me of something I wrote on a napkin and handed to someone I bumped into, who was doing it tough, when I was travelling through Europe…
“The thing that makes doing something small for the benefit of another so ridiculously beautiful, is that so few people choose to”.
Well!!!
Not today!
It was an entire hall full of people doing extraordinary, selfless things for the betterment of the world around us.
And it was comprehensively inspirational ❤️‍🩹❤️🙌🏼

Friendraiser Spotlight: Joe 💜

Joe is the founder of 4 Shore Projects and a long-time supporter and ambassador of Friends with Dignity.

He has been a passionate advocate of our Little Friends Scholarship Program, playing an active role in reviewing and granting scholarship applications each round to help children access extra-curricular activities while experience domestic and family violence.

Joe brings not only his professional expertise, but also a deep personal commitment to supporting adults and children rebuilding their lives after domestic and family violence.

Having overcome significant challenges in his own early life, Joe understands the importance of stability, opportunity and community.

We’re incredibly proud to have him as one of our Founding Friendraisers and ambassadors.

2025, you’ve been swell…
A year where everything went from dire to amazing!

A year of giving back and supporting both Charities and Community Groups.
A massive year of growth and learning, reconfirming why humility matters.

A mammoth effort from our team to create beautiful new spaces out of old outdated facilities.

Our Clients, Subbies and Consultants along for the ride, working as one team.
The way I’d always dreamed it could be.

A heartfelt thank you to all those who supported us, were part of our team, and who we share the success with freely.

We’ll be back next year after a well deserved break.
