Here's how to turn a cheap flooring job into a very expensive one. ππΈ
1οΈβ£ Skip the moisture testing: A slab can look bone dry and still push enough v***r to lift a coating months later.
2οΈβ£ Cut corners on surface prep: Skip the mechanical profiling and the coating has nothing to grip. It'll look fine for a few weeks. Then traffic or a spill finds the weak spot, and it will peel right back.
3οΈβ£ Pick a system on price, not fit: Get the system wrong for how the space is actually used and you're looking at cracking or failure within the first year.
4οΈβ£ Coat straight over damaged concrete: Cracks and spalling don't disappear under a fresh coat. They telegraph right through it - often faster than you'd expect.
5οΈβ£ Always chase the cheapest fix: Patch it instead of repairing it, every time. Do this at every stage and you'll end up paying for the same floor two or three times over.
Follow all five, and you'll get exactly what you paid for: a floor that fails right on schedule. π
