We could watch this all day. 🀌

A little throwback to a job at the Bundaberg Brewed Drinks facility, where we captured this epoxy flooring being spread across a freshly prepared floor.

Is it just us that finds this satisfying? πŸ˜‚

Did you know? Our line marking tapes and projectors carry between 2 & 5 year warranties.

Because marking that wears out in year one isn't marking - it's a repaint job waiting to happen. πŸ™„

Defect within that window? We replace it. πŸ™‚

Shop our tape/projectors knowing they have warranties on them πŸ‘‰ https://cotewell.com.au/shop/

Every 6 months, this concrete plant repainted their lines. 🀨
Heavy trucks turning on them wore the paint down fast - fading within weeks of being repainted. πŸ˜’

Eventually, they got tired of the cycle and came to us for something that could handle their traffic.
18 months later the lines are still doing their job and we expect them to run for at least another 6 months. πŸ’ͺ

Don't just accept the 6 month repaint cycle. Come to us for a long-term solution.

Got cracks in your concrete? 😬
Coating over them seems like the easy fix...

Right? πŸ€”
Wrong.

Cracks don't disappear under a coating.
They come straight back through it - often faster than you'd think. ⚠️

We've seen it happen: a crack that wasn't fixed before coating, reappeared in the exact same spot within months.

The fix is simple: We've got a fix that combines epoxy resin with sand to create a durable 70MPa repair mortar. This system bonds seamlessly with existing concrete and restores strength. πŸ’ͺ

Here's how to turn a cheap flooring job into a very expensive one. πŸ˜πŸ’Έ

1️⃣ Skip the moisture testing: A slab can look bone dry and still push enough v***r to lift a coating months later.
2️⃣ Cut corners on surface prep: Skip the mechanical profiling and the coating has nothing to grip. It'll look fine for a few weeks. Then traffic or a spill finds the weak spot, and it will peel right back.
3️⃣ Pick a system on price, not fit: Get the system wrong for how the space is actually used and you're looking at cracking or failure within the first year.
4️⃣ Coat straight over damaged concrete: Cracks and spalling don't disappear under a fresh coat. They telegraph right through it - often faster than you'd expect.
5️⃣ Always chase the cheapest fix: Patch it instead of repairing it, every time. Do this at every stage and you'll end up paying for the same floor two or three times over.

Follow all five, and you'll get exactly what you paid for: a floor that fails right on schedule. πŸ™„

The floors that last are the ones done right once - tested, prepped, matched to the right system, on a sound slab.

What does your space need before a coating goes on it? Happy to talk it through.

Paint or epoxy line marking? πŸ€”
Either of these work in a low-traffic environment but to pick which one, well that will depend on your site, your budget & how quick you want it done.

Compare the main differences between the two. πŸ‘‡

Standard Single Pack Paint
➑️ One component
➑️ Quick & easy to install
➑️ Usually no abrasion required
➑️ The budget-friendly option
➑️ Less durable
➑️ Wears faster under pressure

2-Pack Epoxy
➑️ Two products mixed together
➑️ Very durable
➑️ A more involved application
➑️ Requires abrasion before application
➑️ More costly
➑️ Somewhat holds up to traffic

How many days can your workshop afford to sit idle for a flooring job? 🫀

A week is roughly how long a standard epoxy floor needs to fully cure before heavy traffic can go back on it. For a lot of workshops, that's a full week of lost throughput.

We have some ways to cut it down πŸ‘‡
➑️ Standard epoxy, staged in zones - only the active section is down at a time, so the rest of the site keeps running
➑️ Fast-cure systems - often forklift-rated within 24 hours instead of a week

We did a full comparison (cost, turnaround times etc) in this week's video - worth a watch before you go shutting down your whole site. 😏

Ask three people what the best line marking system is for your manufacturing facility, and you'll probably get three different answers. πŸ˜’

Paint is the best.
Tape is the best.
Epoxy is the best.

But here's the thing - there isn't a single "best" solution. It depends on your traffic, environment and how your facility operates.

So we've created a guide comparing each option - explaining where it works best and where it might fail.

Our guide covers:
βœ”οΈ Standard paint
βœ”οΈ Epoxy line marking
βœ”οΈ Floor marking tape
βœ”οΈ Projected line marking

Read the guide and find the solution that's right for your facility πŸ‘‰ https://cotewell.com.au/what-type-of-line-marking-is-best-for-my-manufacturing-facility/

All in a weeks work! πŸ’ͺ
Our team has been busy completing the epoxy floor coating for Bendpro's new facility in Maryborough.

Below are a few snapshots of each stage of the coating process - from preparation through to the final coat.

Seeing each stage really makes you appreciate the time and effort that goes into delivering a quality finish. πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ

How good does the final result look? πŸ‘Œ

We can't wait to see the facility fully operational and watch how the coating performs under the demands of day-to-day use.

Every line marking system they'd used either chipped, faded or got covered in forklift tyre marks.

They came to us thinking there simply wasn't a long-term solution. πŸ˜’

So we visited their site and after assessing the situation, it became clear that there was really only one solution that would solve the problem.

A solution that doesn't rely on putting anything on the floor. πŸ™‚β€β†”οΈ

That meant:
🚫 No wear
🚫 No chipping
🚫 No tyre marks
🚫 No constant remarking
