From 9th July 2026, new controlled airspace and flight paths are expected around Ballina Byron Gateway Airport.

Flying drones in the Sydney Basin? This one matters.
From 9 July 2026, Sydney’s airspace will change significantly with the introduction of Western Sydney International Airport and updated airspace across Sydney, Bankstown, Camden, Richmond and Sydney Harbour.
For drone operators, this is not just an aviation update. It may affect your flight planning, Civil Aviation Safety Authority approvals, operating areas, height limits, procedures and existing assumptions.

RPA Operations Consultant / Chief Remote Pilot
A senior client-facing role supporting RPAS programs, regulatory compliance, training, operational leadership and high-profile emerging aviation projects.
Remote Pilot – Operations & CRP Support Services
A hands-on operational role for an experienced remote pilot ready to step into flight operations, proficiency checks, technology trials, maintenance coordination and CRP support.
Sales / Administration Assistant
A fantastic part-time opportunity for someone organised, proactive and excited to support client communications, sales processes, proposals, CRM systems, marketing and day-to-day business operations.
At Hover UAV, no two days are the same. You could be supporting complex approvals, BVLOS programs, client ReOCs, emerging technology trials, training activities, or the systems that keep our business moving.
We’re looking for people who are motivated, adaptable and excited by the future of drones, aviation and technology.

Jackie Dujmovic and Phillip Grieve from Hover UAV will be attending the Vertical Flight Exposition 2026 from tomorrow and would welcome the opportunity to catch up with anyone also heading along.
RotorTech is one of the region’s key vertical flight industry events, bringing together the helicopter, uncrewed flight and Advanced Air Mobility sectors. The 2026 event is being held at RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, from 6–8 May 2026, and features an industry exhibition, expert conference program, static displays and networking opportunities.
For Hover UAV, it is a great opportunity to connect with operators, regulators, technology providers and industry partners as the uncrewed aviation sector continues to evolve.

What a fantastic initiative for the community.
The Surfers Rescue 24/7 program, developed by Surfing NSW with support from Primary Industries and Regional Development, is a great example of using drone technology in a positive and practical way to support coastal awareness, water safety and safer outcomes on our beaches and within board riding communities.
Hover UAV is proud to have played a small part in supporting the training and safe use of this technology, helping ensure the program is built on responsible and compliant foundations.

It was truly wonderful for Hover UAV to be part of the FlytBase NestGen Retreat in Jaipur, India last week. Bringing together leaders and innovators who are all navigating the journey into autonomy created an environment that was both inspiring and incredibly refreshing. The openness in the room was something special. Honest conversations, sharing real experiences, and learning from each other’s challenges and mistakes as much as from the successes.
These types of discussions are invaluable as our industry continues to evolve. Hearing how others are approaching similar problems, exploring new ideas, and pushing the boundaries of what autonomous systems can achieve provided tremendous perspective on where the industry is heading and the role we can all play in shaping that future.
A sincere thank you to the team at FlytBase for the invitation and for creating such a thoughtful space for collaboration. The leadership, the willingness to bring pioneers together, and the genuine spirit of partnership made this an experience that will stay with us well beyond the retreat.
