854 Busselton House - The brief for this home was to create a place that brings the whole family together — designed for entertaining, shared time and long summer stays with kids, grandkids and friends.

The two-storey home combines James Hardie Scyon Linea cladding with acrylic render, finished with a Surfmist Colorbond skillion roof.

At the entry, a Tasmanian Oak timber front door and side window create a visual line through the home, connecting the backyard to the street and framing views to the ocean beyond. 🤌

Should I be getting double glazed windows or not? In short – yes!

Double glazed windows use two panes of glass with a vacuumed air gap between them, creating an insulated barrier. The benefits are big, especially in terms of energy efficiency for your home. They also reduce noise, so if you’re block is on a busy road, they’re a win!

But of course, with all the positives, there does also come an increased price tag.
Another good option includes low-e glass which is a standard glass with a thin, transparent coating, that works better at reflecting heat. In short, do your research, triple check your budget and chat to your builder!

When it comes to giving a home character, external cladding plays a big role — not just in looks, but in durability and maintenance too.

We use a range of products from James Hardie and Cemintel, which offer a great balance of style and low upkeep.

Here's a snapshot of some of our favourites:
✨ James Hardie Scyon Linea Weatherboards – Our go-to! At 16mm thick, they create a bold shadow line and a more substantial feel than standard weatherboards (shown in all photos).
✨ James Hardie Axon Smooth Cladding – Vertical lines for a clean, modern look We're currently using this one at 1040 project - photos will follow.
✨ Cemintel Barestone Ash Cladding – One of Chris’ personal favourites! Beautiful natural tones and a sleek, architectural vibe. You can see this cladding on our Reynolds Studio project (photos 1-3) in the awning above the stairs.

Mixing materials is always a big win too – feature timbers, recycled brick, and modern claddings – to create a more layered finish. 👌

Reynolds Reno Part 2 is officially underway.

This charming 90m² home is about to undergo a major transformation — growing into a spacious 210m² to suit a young, growing family.

We’re adding a second floor featuring a master suite, an upstairs living area, powder room, and home office. Downstairs will be extended to include a larger living space, a new mudroom, and a staircase at the entry.
