Calling teachers and educators alike!

I am seeking passionate science teachers to be part of the first offering of The Microalgae Project in 2026.
It’s a first-of-its-kind, authentic education experience that connects students to nature and bridges classroom learning with real-world contexts.

A big thanks to the Valerie Taylor Prize for Ocean Literacy by , the Sydney .museum, and for all their support behind this little dream of mine.

This short film was so much fun to make and wouldn’t have been possible without support from the 2025 Valerie Taylor Ocean Prize by and the Australian National Maritime Museum .museum 🙏

I have spent the last while researching the biotech world of microalgae and how it can be used in the fight for sustainability. Fascinating yes, however I have always wrested with a need to share the breath taking tiny world I see down the microscope. I’m convinced these tiny cells orchestrate life on earth and their beauty should be seen. This project has let me scratch this itch, and after a heart warming premier screening last week, I am itching once again.

I recently heard a quote that stopped me in my tracks.. ‘the artist is the child who survives’, a reminder to not let growing up suppress your passions. If you have a niggling creative itch, I highly recommend you go scratch it!
