🚀 Introducing ASCENT

The future of scientific discovery, technology validation and mission intelligence is being built through collaboration.

ASCENT is Space Centre Australia's new Commercial Science-as-a-Service platform, designed to accelerate the journey from concept to operational capability through five integrated service lines:

🔬 ASCENT Science™
Airborne science missions supporting Earth Science, Heliophysics, Astrophysics, Planetary Science and emerging research disciplines.

🚀 ASCENT Validate™
Technology testing, certification support, environmental exposure and accelerated Technology Readiness Level (TRL) maturation.

📊 ASCENT Data™
Mission-derived datasets, analytics, environmental intelligence and Data-as-a-Service products.

🛡️ ASCENT Resilience™
Environmental monitoring, disaster resilience, mission assurance and strategic capability support.

🧠 ASCENT Insight™
ASTRIS AI-enabled analytics, onboard processing and advanced decision intelligence.

Operating from NASA Wallops Flight Facility, ASCENT is creating a collaborative ecosystem for universities, researchers, technology developers, aerospace companies, government agencies and commercial partners seeking to accelerate innovation and scientific outcomes.

Whether you are developing a new sensor, validating a technology, advancing scientific research, generating high-value data products or exploring AI-enabled mission solutions, ASCENT provides a pathway to move faster.

We are now actively engaging with organisations interested in becoming part of the ASCENT ecosystem.

The future of discovery belongs to those who collaborate.

Excited to announce that our CEO James Palmer will be speaking at the upcoming Australian Space Summit & Exhibition 2026 in June.
Over the past few years, this journey has taken SCA from Cape York to NASA Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, working alongside incredible people across industry, government, defence, science and engineering.
What started as a vision to help build Australia’s future in space has now evolved into international programs spanning:
🚀 Airborne science missions
🌏 Sovereign space capability
✈️ Advanced aerospace systems
🛰️ NASA-linked operations in the USA
🤖 AI-enabled mission technologies through ASTRIS-AI
We are looking forward to sharing more about where the industry is heading, the opportunities ahead for Australia, and why we still strongly believe Australia can play a major role in the future global space economy.
If you’re attending the summit, come say hello.

We are thrilled to partner with Space Connect for the Australian Space Summit & Exhibition 2026
The Australian Space Summit & Exhibition is officially returning for its fifth year, landing in Sydney in June.
In 2026, we’ll welcome over 70 frontline speakers to collaborate and share fresh insights as Australia sharpens its strategic focus on sovereign capability and space innovation. From weighing options for building SATCOM sovereignty to navigating diverse opinions on AUKUS, the summit isn’t just reflecting on change; we’re shaping it by turning towards the hard questions.
Why should you attend the summit?
• Gain firsthand insights from policy shapers so that you can align your business priorities with industry motives.
• Understand Australia’s changing role as a global space contributor and learn how you can tap into a worldwide ecosystem of end-users to fuel growth.
• Forge meaningful connections with key industry stakeholders, with dedicated networking and exhibition spaces available for the entirety of the event.

The global conversation around space is changing rapidly.
Across the United States, industry, Government, Defence and capital markets are now openly discussing the need to not only accelerate but significantly scale up investment into sovereign space capability, commercial infrastructure, national security integration and advanced aerospace systems.
Events and policy discussions across Washington D.C., Wall Street and the wider US space ecosystem continue to reinforce a common theme investing in America’s space superiority through commercial capability, industrial growth, allied partnerships and operational readiness. At a time where commentary around parts of the Australian space sector has focused on contraction and retrenchment, the international environment is moving in the opposite direction.
This is not the time for Australia to step back from space capability.
It is the time to align with trusted partners, accelerate sovereign capability development and position Australian industry within the broader allied space ecosystem.
At Space Centre Australia LLC and Space Centre Australia, we continue to see strong long-term value in:
Airborne science and aerospace operations
Dual-use aerospace capability
Sovereign infrastructure
Responsive launch systems
International collaboration
Science, defence and commercial integration
The global space economy is entering a new phase driven by capability, resilience and strategic relevance. The nations and companies that continue building during uncertainty are likely to define the next generation of space leadership.
