We'll be following Irene's journey closely to hear how we can help provide much needed housing for our community and so we can learn from Irene's experience to provide advice to our customers!

So it's been a while since I posted because I have been doing some big changes for CEFNQ and what is our lane.

And seeing as the Housing Crisis is what everyone is impacted by in some way I thought I would share my journey of how I am thinking outside the box with it.

I have invested in a Tiny House, it's German made that's all I am saying bc the experience to buy and build it was something hectic so I am not promoting that company. What I am going to share is how to avoid what I went through and I am going to be documenting my story of downsizing my life and getting out of the Real Estate loop of landlords and Real Estate agents who either don't pay for repairs or put the rent up by up each year.

Most people are at 2 rental increases away from leaving Cairns and moving up the Tablelands where the rent is slightly cheaper.

Moving forward I will be sharing my journey to downsizing my life and how we are living large with less on our TikTok channel and here.

We are building a list of land owners and will help vet potential Tiny tenants, who will rent a corner of your block as a Caravan.

We are working with Real Estate Agents and other NGO's who are passionate about thinking outside the box with Real Estate and ensuring we all thrive as we transition to a different type of housing.

Also removing the stigma around tenants when your tenant is also a homeowner. Having spoken to Townplanners and builder certifiers we have all the knowledge and insights on how you can have a THOW, Tiny House On Wheels on your property and be within the local council laws from Atherton to Cairns.

Townsville Council is doing a ground breaking pilot with Tiny Houses that could see it as one of the most forward thinking councils with Tiny Houses in Australia. The hope is that Cairns Regional Council will follow suit.
