Late notice for the ETA Aquarids Meteor Shower I know but this is the best meteor shower of the year so far so donโ€™t miss it !
It continues to be one of the most reliable meteor showers of the year, and to my mind worth getting up around 4am (tomorrow the 7th may) to check it out. From a dark sky site you might get 20 to 25 meteors an hour.
Looking to the east is the easy way to find this meteor shower emanating from the constellation of Aquarius.
It is the result of the gravelly debris of Haleyโ€™s comet !
(Finder chart for FNQ in the background )
no Binos needed, just you your eyes and an hour of patience ๐Ÿ˜Ž โ€ฆ.enjoy !

Saw it tonight in 10x35 IS Binoโ€™s.
Let us know if you can see it tonight, or even a photo ?

Went for a comet hunt this morning for C2025 R3.
** Did you see it ? **
Its Naked Eye visible (Mag4.5) but low in Pre Dawn Sky, clouds and brightening sky meant I just saw a fuzzy greenish point through 15x70 Binos. But will try again tomorrow morning 5:15am !
The planets were great though ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

It was so great to get our first successful Astronomy Dinner tour for the season last night.
Beautiful clear skies despite the early cloud. Delightful views through the scope of Jupiter, the Great Nebula in Orion, the Jewel Box cluster in the southern cross and more
With the wonderful attendance of the Atherton & Kuranda Visitors Information Centre staff ๐Ÿ‘
Conducted on the unique property Kanjini home of
We look forward to an increasing number of clear nights as the season progresses.
