🚛⚡ Big things happening at Great Energy!

This morning, our custom-configured GE700 690kVA Standby Rated Containerised Diesel Generator Set for Smithfield arrived at our workshop.

This unit has been specifically configured to meet the project's requirements and will now undergo final preparations, inspections, and testing by our team before deployment to site.

It's always exciting to see a project of this scale come together, and we're looking forward to sharing more updates as the build progresses.

A huge effort from everyone involved so far, and we can't wait to show you the finished product.

Halfway point on another Great Energy solution build ⚡

Fabrication is well underway, and our sparkys have now started wiring up the soft starters as this project continues to come together. It’s always good seeing the pieces start taking shape after the planning and prep work behind the scenes.

Plenty still to come on this one, but the team is pushing ahead and the end result is going to be something worth waiting for 👌

Be sure to stay tuned for the finished setup once everything is complete.

Is your generator working too easily?

Many standby generators are oversized for their current load. While that sounds like a good thing, running below 30% capacity for long periods can actually cause problems — including carbon buildup, wet stacking, reduced efficiency, and premature engine wear.

✅ The fix? Annual Load Testing.

By applying real site load or using a resistive load bank, load testing helps to:
⚡ Burn off carbon deposits
⚡ Confirm full power capability
⚡ Improve reliability when outages hit
⚡ Extend generator lifespan

A generator that never gets worked properly is often the one that fails when you need it most.

⚙️ A good reminder of what we actually do every day at Great Energy.

This engine rolled into the workshop tired, worn, and well past its best after years of hard service.

Instead of replacing it, we stripped it down, went through it properly, and gave it a second life.

There’s something pretty satisfying about seeing the before and after side by side — same engine, same purpose… just ready to go back out and work again.

Most people only see power when the lights turn on.
We see the work behind keeping it that way.

Proud of the team and the craftsmanship that goes into jobs like this.
