Saffire Freycinet will charge up to $35,000 a night at its new Jewel Private Villa and is set to be among Australia's most expensive accommodation when it opens December 1.

The three-bedroom, 800sqm residence near Muir's Beach features an 18-metre heated pool, whirlpool bath, spa and floor-to-ceiling glass panels facing the Hazard Ranges.

Several bookings are already locked in.

"It's going to be something really, really special - absolute market-leading for Tasmania, but also stands up on a national level," Saffire's general manager Dylan Counsel told Pulse.

The villa is being built by north-west Tasmanian firm AJR Construct, with completion expected late September and bookings available from December.

Olympian Luke Doerner has unveiled the Southern Beaches’ first indoor pool after nearly a decade of work.

The former Kookaburras defender opened the Southern Beaches Swim Centre at Dodges Ferry for a community preview on Thursday.

Doerner said local families had been travelling 35km to access indoor swimming facilities.

The $1.5 million project, backed by the state government, includes a 25-metre pool, café and health spaces.

The centre will offer swim programs, training, and rehabilitation services for the growing region.

Construction is due to finish in June, with a public opening planned for July.
