The mezzanine is looking HUGE! When it's completed it will add over 30% more floor space for us. With new products coming in, we're going to fill it up really quick.

The installation team has been knocking it ouf of the park since they started on Tuesday morning.

At the moment, only 50% of the mezzanine floor has been installed - they still have to work on the far back wall area.

It's been hectic here - things everywhere, noise, lots of big boy toys moving in and out.
But it's all temporary - before we know it we'll be moving all of our stuff back up.

The single best addition to our warehouse is taking shape. Day 3 and it already looks incredible.

It’s one of those things where we’ll look back and think “should’ve done this earlier”. It’s game changer for us.

There will be some delay with fulfilling orders as a lot of stock has been moved off-site temporarily while this project is going.

Rain jackets are designed to keep water out.

Which also makes them difficult to print on.

A lot of technical garments contain:
– DWR coatings
– synthetic fibres
– water-resistant finishes

So even if the print looks good initially, poor adhesion can show up later as:
– peeling
– cracking
– wash failure
– poor durability

This is where chemistry and surface prep matter.

For difficult coated garments, DWR Primer can help promote adhesion before printing.

Then comes the ink system:

👉 PU inks
A 2-part system designed specifically for technical and coated substrates with excellent flexibility and adhesion.

👉 Plastisol + Hugger Catalyst
Used when additional adhesion and flexibility is needed from a plastisol system on technical garments.

Because rain jacket printing isn’t just:
“print and cure.”

It’s:
✔ surface preparation
✔ compatible chemistry
✔ flexible ink systems

Get the process right and the print lasts.

DM us if you need help choosing the right setup for technical garment printing.

The warehouse floor has been prepped - stock moved to an off-site storage to make space for the installation of our long-awaiting mezzanine.

The team on the floor executed this flawlessly. While still doing their daily tasks and jobs, they also arranged and moved a lot of stock to clear the floor and racks.

The installation takes place bright and early this coming Tuesday morning. We are allowing 2 weeks for the installation to take place - this gives us and the installation team enough time to work around each other.

We will notify you if there are any impacts to our ability to fulfill orders and execute services.

Updates and photos will be shared as well!

We wanted to give our customers plenty of notice regarding some upcoming pricing and freight adjustments taking effect from 1 July 2026.

Like many businesses across the industry, we continue to experience rising costs across freight, transport, warehousing, and day-to-day operations. We’ve worked hard to keep these increases as measured as possible while continuing to provide the service, stock holding, and technical support our customers rely on.

Transparency is important to us, which is why we’re communicating these changes early to give customers time to plan ahead.

For a full breakdown of the upcoming changes, freight structure updates, and timing, please visit the full post on our website.

Why does ink stick perfectly to one plastic…
and peel off another?

It’s usually not random.
And it’s not always the ink.

For graphic printers working with solvent inks, films, synthetic stocks, labels, and packaging materials, adhesion starts with the surface itself.

If the substrate has low surface energy, your ink or coating may not wet out properly — which means poor bonding, lifting, scratching, delamination, or failure later in production.

That’s where corona treatment and dyne testing come in.

Corona treatment helps prepare difficult substrates by increasing surface energy.

Dyne testing helps confirm whether that surface is actually ready to accept ink, adhesive, varnish, coating, or laminate.

Because a substrate can look printable…
but still fail when it matters.

We’ve broken this down properly in the latest Print Journal blog — including what surface energy is, why plastics are difficult to print, which substrates may need treatment, and why dyne testing matters before production.
