A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall at the Burraga Sheep Show & Country Fair last Saturday!

We had a beautiful day for it and really enjoyed catching up with locals, meeting some new faces and having plenty of great conversations about The Pines Wind Farm.

We were also proud to support this year’s Show with a donation towards the prizes. Events like this take a huge amount of work to bring together, so congratulations and thank you to the Burraga Agricultural Bureau for making it such a great day for the village.

Thanks again to everyone who came over for a chat – it was lovely to see you!

The Pines Wind Farm is proud to be supporting the 2026 Annual Burraga Sheep Show & Country Fair – a much-loved event on the Burraga calendar.

There’ll be plenty happening throughout the day, from sheep and wool competitions and yard dog trials to the new Burraga Beaut Ute Competition, market stalls, family activities, live music and more.

It was great to be in Black Springs recently, where our Community Representative Glen Stewart caught up with members of Black Springs Community Association Inc. to see the new Telstra GO mobile repeaters in action! 📱

After more than eight years of trying to improve mobile coverage, Black Springs now has two reliable connection points at the Community Hall and Recreation Ground, made possible with a $5,000 grant from our Early Community Sponsorship Program.

What could your local group do with up to $5,000? Round 5 is open now, and if your group, club, school or organisation has an idea that could make a real difference in the Oberon LGA or surrounding eligible areas, we want to hear it.

Applications close 31 August – apply now: https://www.thepineswindfarm.com.au/sponsorship

For Black Springs Community Association Inc President Andrew Sempell, the repeaters are about much more than convenience:

“Poor reception is something locals have learnt to live with, but when there’s an emergency, you don’t want residents, visitors or emergency responders having to worry about whether they can get a signal.”

Need help with your application or have a question? Give us a call on 1800 952 319 or email [email protected].

Students from across the Central Tablelands and Central West got a glimpse of where their future careers could take them at the recent Bathurst Careers Expo – and our team loved being part of the conversation.

It takes all kinds of people and skills to bring a project like The Pines Wind Farm to life. From planning and development through to construction and operations, there are career pathways across engineering, environmental management, trades, project management, community engagement, transport and logistics, work health and safety, law, heavy vehicle operation and more.

We enjoyed hearing about students’ ambitions, answering their questions and seeing just how engaged and confident the next generation is about their future. Their enthusiasm was infectious – and we think they have plenty to teach us, too!

We were also pleased to support students from Oberon High School NSW DOE to attend the Expo by providing transport for the day, helping them explore what the future could hold.

As Australia’s energy system continues to evolve, we want the next generation to see the opportunities the energy transition could create – and the exciting career pathways that could be right on their doorstep.

The Pines Wind Farm Affordable Housing Project has the potential to create opportunities for local businesses and trades, and we're exploring what that could look like as planning continues.

That's why we recently visited Green Timber Technology's factory in Orange with our project partner BlueCHP to better understand how different approaches to housing delivery could potentially work alongside local electricians, plumbers, tilers and other businesses to help bring the project to life in Oberon.

If you're a local business and would like to be considered for future opportunities with The Pines Wind Farm, register your details here: https://www.thepineswindfarm.com.au/join-our-supplier-register

When every minute counts, having the right information on hand can make all the difference.

That's why we're proud to have supported Rotary Club of Oberon through our Early Community Sponsorship Program to help deliver Healthcare Grab Bags to the local community.

It was great to attend Friday's launch and see the initiative in action. More than 500 bags are being rolled out across the region, providing a simple way for residents to keep important medical information, medications and emergency contact details together.

Developed by Oberon Health Connect with support from Oberon Council and in consultation with local health services, the bags will help first responders and healthcare workers access critical information quickly when it's needed most.

Round 5 of the program is now open, with applications closing on 31 August. Apply today at https://www.thepineswindfarm.com.au/sponsorship.
