The Thermal/Metal Spray process is used to reclaim worn/damaged parts. The rebuilding process involves the deposition of metal/ceramics onto the surface of a component. Upon impact, these particles form a splat, quench, freeze and bond (both to the component and each other) to form a thin 75 to 125ÎĽm layer of new material. Additional passes continue to add material until the desired thickness is achieved. The sprayed deposit can then be ground, machined, milled, filed, honed and/or emery polished. Watch the video below to find out more.

Worn components can be extremely costly in a production environment where downtime needs to be kept to a minimum. Components/parts can however be salvaged us...

Hard-facing is a method used to prolong the life of earth-moving equipment and to repair equipment components. It involves applying a harder material on top of the parent metal to extend the life of the component, which saves maintenance costs and downtime. The process also provides a means to avoid and rusting, as well as deterioration through wear and tear. Industries using the hard-facing process include, but are not limited to , , , and . Click below to find out how our equipment and consumables are used in the hard-facing industry.

Hard-facing is commonly used to prolong the life of earth-moving equipment as well as being used to repair equipment components.

Arc Sprayed coatings can be applied to just about anything including Metal, Wood, Polystyrene, Plastic, Glass, Paper, Ceramics, as well as Chocolate (for demonstrative purposes only) and can be used in unlimited artistic applications. Arc Spray also provides the ideal surface to receive any top-coating from painting to powder-coating with any available colour! The Arc Spray process is known for its low heat input when spraying. Low heating of the substrate makes arc spray useful when it comes to thermally sensitive substrates. The low heat input also eliminates the risk of component distortion. This video will help to emphasise this low heat input by showing examples that would lose definition, distort, warp or even melt when subjected to a high temperature.

The MSSA Tungsten Feeder (also known as a Pneumatic Tungsten Grit Feeder) is used for Tungsten Hard Facing with Tungsten Carbide. A tungsten grit application can prolong the life of a component by 3 to 5 times (depending on the application) which can make a substantial difference to running costs. Ground-engaging tools and equipment used in construction, excavation and earth-moving, is commonly associated with the tungsten hard-facing process. Ground engaging blades/teeth and ripper points on dozers and cat trucks are just some of the numerous applications that this process is used on. Click below to find out more.

The MSSA Tungsten Feeder, also known as a Pneumatic Tungsten Grit Feeder (PTGF) designed to consistently feed tungsten chips into your existing MIG Torch.
