Riley has been recognised as a silent achiever, consistently showing commitment, reliability and a strong work ethic since starting with STM.

Beginning as an STS, Riley has quickly worked his way up, completing his TMI, moving into a ute, and now proudly driving our Superute.

He consistently demonstrates a keen willingness to learn everything there is to know about traffic control. He is a fast learner, owns his mistakes, learns from them, and shows maturity beyond his years.

Riley is frequently requested back by clients and fellow TC teammates alike, and is considered an absolute asset to STM.

🏆 March Safety Award Winner – Abby Barnes 🏆

A huge congratulations to Abby Barnes, our March Safety Award Winner!

Abby was recognised for her adaptability, leadership, commitment to safety, and dedication to STM values.

She received glowing feedback from GVG management, who recognised what an asset she was to their site. Abby stepped outside her comfort zone, took the reins on the job, and impressed with her adaptability and commitment to managing the site while upholding STM standards and values.

She is well liked by her peers and consistently does the right thing by contacting a supervisor for clarification or approval when unsure.

Yellow Ride

National Road Safety Week 2026 ends today.
But the message doesn't.

Today's theme - the Yellow Ride - closes out the week with one final reminder: every trip you take, every shift you start, every cone we lay down on a Queensland road is part of the same goal.

Drive so others survive.

Thank you to everyone who took the pledge this week. To our clients, our crews, our partners, and to every driver who slowed down through a worksite, gave way at a merge, or just took an extra breath before pulling out.

Road safety isn't a week. It's every day. We'll see you out there.

Drive safely on regional, country, rural and remote roads 🛣️

Country roads are where the highest road tolls live.

Higher speeds. Longer distances. Wildlife. Fatigue. Limited mobile reception. Slower emergency response times if something goes wrong.

If you're heading out of the city this weekend:
🦘 Watch for wildlife at dawn and dusk
☕ Stop for a coffee, not just for fuel
🚧 Slow right down through worksites -our crews work these roads too
📱 Check your reception plan before you leave
🚙 Don't overtake unless you can see clearly

The road home is longer than the road out. Plan for both.

Plan your journey 🗺️

Weekend approaches. So does the temptation to push.

To leave a bit later than you should. To skip the break you need. To squeeze in one more thing before the drive.

Today's theme asks us to do the boring, sensible thing - plan the journey.

🚦 Check the weather and traffic before you leave
🚦 Build in rest stops - every 2 hours is the standard
🚦 Make sure your vehicle's road-ready: tyres, lights, wipers, fluids
🚦 Tell someone where you're going and when you'll arrive
🚦 If you're tired, don't start. If you get tired, stop.

The job of getting there safely starts before you turn the key.
